BLAST FROM THE PAST: High Quality Scans of Channing Tatum's GQ Magazine Article

I just got the July 2006 issue of GQ Magazine that has a great article and more importantly, a gorgeous 8-page photo spread of Channing Tatum modeling. You can take a look at the images below to see the cover of the issue with Will Ferrell and the entire 8-page article:

Here is the complete GQ article by Candice Rainey:

HOW HE BECAME AN ACTOR

After working as a mortgage-loan officer and dabbling in construction, the Florida native decided to give modeling a go when he was approached on the street in Miami by a guy asking if Tatum had "representation." "I had no idea what he was talking about," Tatum says. "He tuned out to be a weirdo, but it got me thinking maybe I could do it." Smart move. Two years of modeling for deep-pocketed clients like Armani and Abercrombie & Fitch helped him land gigs in a Mountain Dew commercial and on CSI: Miami.

FIRST LEADING ROLE
Tatum, 26, played a high school jock with no game in this year’s She’s The Man, costarring Amanda Bynes (imagine a PG-13 version of Lindsay Lohan).

HIS FIRST GOOD ROLE
He appears in the Sundace breakout A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, due to hits theaters in August [2006]. Based on the memoir of the same name, the movie charts author and director Dito Montiel’s coming-of-age in Astoria, Queens. Tatum plays neighborhood tough guy and Montel’s best friend, Antonio, in the film, which was shot entirely in Astoria. "I would go walking around with Dito in the neighborhood, and he knew everyone," Tatum says, laughing. "All these dudes have bullet holes and **** and the first question they would ask is ‘Who’s playing Antonio?’ And you’re just like, ‘Oh ****, that’s me. Hi, I’m an actor.’ But they were really nice, man."

WHY HE KNOWS HOW TO DANCE
"In Tampa, where I grew up, all my friends are Spanish. Have you ever heard of a quinceaƱera? It’s basically like a sweet sixteen, and they have these big elaborate dances. That’s where I learned. I can’t count music, though. I don’t hear ones and twos and threes in there. I just hear beats."

…AND CATCH A FOOTBALL
"I went to college in West Virginia on a football scholarship. I was there for a semester and I was like, ‘Yep, that’s it, that’s a wrap.’ I’m not the school type."

I just added the entire article into the Magazine Set of the Channing Tatum Unwrapped photo gallery. You can also click here to see the high quality photos from the Nathaniel Goldberg photoshoot.
