CHANNING TATUM MOVIE BYTES: ‘Dear John’, ‘Public Enemies’, ‘Fighting’, and ‘G.I. Joe’

I keep finding little snippets of information all over the internet about Channing Tatum's films. By themselves, each piece of info would make for one very short article, but as they say, there's power in numbers. Together, they all have become a new CTU article series I will affectionately call "Channing Tatum Movie Bytes". Enjoy!!!

DEAR JOHN

Channing Tatum and the Nicholas Sparks Book 'Dear John'Dear John author Nicholas Sparks is currently promoting his newest #1 New York Times best seller The Lucky One all over the country, and he recently shared insider tales about his books and movies with over 200 high school students in Northern Arkansas. From his 90 minute Q&A session we learn that 'Dear John', the movie and the epic love story that Chan is filming right now in South Carolina, will be released in theaters by October 2009. If you're a fan of the extremely popular author, CLICK HERE to read more highlights from his talk.

PUBLIC ENEMIES

Channing Tatum's Film 'Public Enemies' with Johnny DeppMovieTickets.com spent this summer surveying thousands of movie fans to select the most anticipated movies through Summer 2009. Channing Tatum's real-life crime drama 'Public Enemies' ranked #4 overall and #2 amongst female movie-goers. With Channing Tatum, Johnny Depp, and Christian Bale all in the same cast, it definitely doesn't take a psychic or a survey to predict they're not going to have any trouble getting people into the theaters for this one. 'Public Enemies' is set to hit US theaters on July 1, 2009, and the last I heard, they were trying to release a trailer this Winter. You can CLICK HERE to read more about the survey.

FIGHTING

Channing Tatum in a Scene on the Set of 'Fighting' (High Quality - HQ)Channing Tatum's 'Fighting' co-star Terrence Howard has been promoting his new album and was recently interviewed by the Australian magazine Babble Baby. In the interview, he confirms that the film is still scheduled for a Spring 2009 release, so hopefully that means that the possible purchase of Rogue Pictures by Relativity Media I mentioned in a recent article will not affect the release date of the film.**fingers crossed**

G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA

Promotional Photo of Channing Tatum as Duke in 'G.I. Joe' (Cropped)Uber producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura was recently interviewed by MTV.com. The 'G.I. Joe' executive producer had the following to say to MTV News about some of the early scenes he’s been working on with director Stephen Sommers,

“We are in post-production, and it’s looking really good...It’s going to be really fun, and it’s going to be big...There is going to be two or three really large sequences in it that are really going to blow people away. But I think that, more than anything, what differentiates it from a lot of these big movies is that there are eight or nine very well-drawn characters.”

I hope this means we are still on schedule to see a 'G.I. Joe' trailer during the holidays as we were previously promised, but rumor has it that we may have to wait until Oscar season instead. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently announced an end to a long-standing ban on movie advertisements played during their Oscar night, and it's considered to be a big deal in the industry. Many feel that 'G.I. Joe' would be a great candidate for Paramount to promote during the telecast, but nothing has been confirmed yet. The one thing we do know is that 'G.I. Joe' is scheduled to hit theaters on August 7,2009.

CTU NEWS: What's New at Channing Tatum Unwrapped?

Channing Tatum in 'Stop-Loss' Promotional Photo (Autographed)The answer to the question in the title of this post is...PLENTY!!! And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I just received a really awesome package in the mail that I think you all may be a little interested in...

Chan and Jenna just sent me a ton of autographed pics to give away to fans here at CTU!!!

The autographed 'Stop-Loss' promotional photo on this post is an example of one of them and is my absolute favorite, because I had not seen it before. For that reason, I'm going to say that this one is a CTU exclusive.

Much like Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's careers, there is always something going on or changing here at CTU. 2009 is going to be a big year for both of them, so it's neccessary for CTU to step it's game up too. There's no reason to wait for 2009 to do it, so I'm getting a head start.

I'm always on the hunt for new gadgets for the site and I change the design sometimes to hopefully make it easier for fans to find over 1000 different articles I've written about Chan, Jenna, and their projects in the last two years.

In addition to some tweaks to the site, I've been working on a new FREE program for fans that I hope you all will participate in. I'm not going to give out too many details right now, but make sure to check back later this week to get the scoop.

In the meantime, I wanted to let you all know that I recently updated the main site ChanningTatumUnwrapped.com to highlight some of the most popular articles and sections of the website.

Here's what's new at CTU.com (for now):

  • NEW HOMEPAGE LAYOUT: Although it's not a drastic change, you can check out the latest CTU.com article and the new featured article section at the top if the homepage. Beneath that you will also find a new "Fan Favorites" section that highlights the latest Pictures of the Week, Videos of the Week, Channing Tatum for Dummies, and Jenna Dewan articles.

  • NEW JENNA DEWAN UNWRAPPED: While you're on the homepage, don't forget to check out the Jenna Dewan Unwrapped section in the middle of the page where you can quickly find all of the most recent articles, photos, videos, and a list of her 2008 and beyond films.

  • NEW ADVANCED SEARCH: To the right of the CTU.com search box and on the side bar of each page, I have also added a new advanced search where you all have a ton more ways to be able to search through every article on the site and hopefully find whatever it is that you're looking for faster.

  • NEW ON LOCATION: In the bottom left corner of the CTU.com homepage, I have also added a "Currently Filming" section where fans can get the latest news about Channing when he is filming on locations around the world. Right now, he's currently filming 'Dear John' in South Carolina and this area of the site is where you can quickly get the latest news.
The changes I mentioned above are not that huge, but the main purpose for this post is to let you all know that I do have some really cool things up my sleeve for fans that I will be announcing very soon.

Stay tuned, and I'll let you know how you can get even more involved in the CTU: community and how you may be able to win one of those autographed pics Chan and Jenna were nice enough to send our way!!!

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum Moves to New Talent Agency with Agent Louise Ward

Channing Tatum at 2007 GQ Men of the Year Awards (December 5, 2007) (Cropped)As I previously mentioned in my last post, there was a rumor floating around that Channing Tatum was going to be switching talent agencies along with his well-respected, longtime theatrical agent Louise Ward.

Well, it's not a rumor any more, because Variety has now officially announced the change. Channing is no longer with the William Morris (aka WMA). He is now represented by United Talent Artists (aka UTA), one of the other big five agencies in Tinseltown.

Louise recently joined UTA after leaving WMA and brought along a client list that, in addition to Channing, also includes Julian McMahon ("Nip/Tuck"), Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother"), and Alex Frost ('Stop-Loss').

From what I hear, it's a great move for both Chan and Louise, and I wish them both luck at the new agency.

CHANNING TATUM PROJECT UPDATE: 'Dear John', 'Fighting', 'Stanford Prison Experiment', and 'Step Up 2'

In a recent post, I updated you all on some of Jenna Dewan's current projects. In addition to a rumored switch from the talent agency William Morris to United Talent Artists with his long time theatrical agent Louise Ward, there's been a lot of different things going on with Channing Tatum and his movies too. Fans can read below to get all of the latest scoop.

DEAR JOHN

'Dear John' Cast: Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, Scott Porter, and Henry Thomas

Channing has been filming his romantic drama 'Dear John' all over the beautiful Charleston, South Carolina beaches. In this past week alone, numerous lucky fans have seen him and the cast filming on Isle of Palms beaches on October 20th and on Folly Beach on the 23rd.

In addition to Channing playing the role of John Tyree and Amanda Seyfried playing his love interest Savannah, we recently learned that Scott Porter has also joined the cast. I initially thought he was playing the role of Tim, but have since learned that he may actually have been cast as John's nemesis Randy.

What we do know for sure is that Henry Thomas, who famously played Elliot in E.T., has been cast in the Lasse Hallström directed love story which is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel that follows a soldier on leave (Channing Tatum) who falls for a college student (Amanda Seyfried) only to reenlist in the Army after 9/11. They are saying that Thomas plays the older man who has an affair with Savannah while John is away. Based on what I know about the storyline, I think that means Henry may have been cast in the role of Tim.

FIGHTING

Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard on the Manhattan, New York Set of 'Fighting' (September 26, 2007 - High Quality - HQ)The Associated Press is reporting that Relativity Media is currently in talks with Universal Studios to acquire Rogue Pictures. The sale would include Rogue's 30-title library, four films that are set for release in 2009, and its entire development slate.

Why should this tidbit of information matter to Channing Tatum fans? I'll try to explain...

Channing Tatum's underground mix martial arts drama 'Fighting', which also stars Oscar nominee Terrence Howard, is one of those four Rogue Pictures films that are set to release in 2009. Initially I had read that 'Fighting' may be released early in 2009, but the fact that Rogue could be purchased by Relativity makes that release date a little more uncertain. We may now have to wait until later in the year to see the film.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this one, so I hope the release date ends up being sooner rather than later, but sadly that's all up to the studio gods (whoever they end up being).

STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news today, but the Stanford Daily is saying there may be a delay in another one of Chan's potential projects. (On a side note, delays are very common in the entertainment industry, so it's something I'm starting to get used to.)

They are reporting that the 'Stanford Prison Experiment' is still in the works, but the big-screen Hollywood retelling of Stanford Professor Philip Zimbardo’s famed 1970's prison experiment continues to hit roadblocks.

The film was originally delayed when Christopher McQuarrie, the director and co-writer of the film with Tim Talbott, went abroad to Berlin to work on Tom Cruise's upcoming movie “Valkyrie” (a film about the assassination plot against Adolf Hitler) as a writer, producer and assistant director. Additional delays were also caused by a now settled law suit over distribution rights for the film.

With the delays hopefully behind him, McQuarrie is currently at the casting stage. He is searching for actors to play the prison guard ensemble, Professor Zimbardo, Carlo Prescott (an ex-convict and chief consultant for the experiment who has raised objections to the making of the movie) and psychologist Christina Maslach (the film’s heroine).

Despite previous rumors that Ryan Phillippe, Kieran Culkin, Paul Dano, Jesse Eisenberg, Charlie Hunnam, Ben McKenzie and Channing Tatum would be starring in the movie, no main characters have yet been completely confirmed.

The real Professor Zimbardo, a senior consultant for the movie who works closely with its writers, conducted the experiment in 1971. He assigned student volunteers to the roles of prison guards and prisoners, but the study was ended prematurely due to the intense reactions of the subjects to their roles.

Although the film was originally slated to be released in 2009, the 'Stanford Prison Experiment' is currently considered to be on hold without a release date. Fan's shouldn't fret, because Chan has plenty of other projects in development to keep him and his fans very busy in 2009 and beyond.

STEP UP 2: THE STREETS

'Step Up 2: The Streets' Poster (Norway)To end this movie update on a happier note, I want to let Channing Tatum's Fabulous Fans in Sweden know that his highly successful dance hit ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ was just released on DVD in your country this week!!!

Fans can CLICK HERE to buy the DVD and can get more info on the Swedish movie site LoveFilm.se.

What's next for ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘? The film will next release on DVD in Denmark on October 28, 2008.

REMINDER: Channing Tatum's 'Battle in Seattle' Premieres in 8 More US Cities

Channing Tatum as Johnson in 'Battle in Seattle'I just wanted to remind all of Channing Tatum's Fabulous Fans in Kentucky, New York, Virginia, and Washington that his latest film 'Battle in Seattle' will be premiering in some new cities in your states this TODAY!!!

'Battle in Seattle' is having a limited release in the following US cities this weekend:

  • Louisville, KY

  • Huntington, NY

  • Norfolk, VA

  • Seattle, WA

  • Tacoma, WA

  • Bainbridge Island, WA

  • Port Orchard, WA

  • Port Townsend, WA

In case you don't already know what the film is about...

Based on one of the most incendiary political uprisings in a generation, Stuart Townsend's 'Battle in Seattle' takes an in-depth look at the five days that rocked the world in 1999 as tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in protest of the World Trade Organization. What began as a peaceful protest intended to stop the WTO talks quickly escalated into a full-scale riot and eventual State of Emergency that squared off peaceful and unarmed protesters against the Seattle Police Department and the National Guard. Channing Tatum plays one of the outnumbered riot cops in the film.

Told through true events, 'Battle in Seattle' seamlessly intertwines compelling points of view from a cross-section of society "from protesters and police to delegates and doctors" with no perspective left untold from those who intentionally or accidentally find themselves on the streets of Seattle on those last days of the millennium. Dramatic theatrical performances merge with actual footage of the event to bring these contrasting viewpoints to the screen.

'Battle in Seattle' will be premiering in Juneau, Arkansas next weekend and Tucson, Arizona and Bellingham, Washington the following week.

Fans can CLICK HERE to get details on all of the cities, dates, theaters, and times where the movie is currently showing and will be premiering soon.

New Jenna Dewan Photos, Interview, Casting Call, and Trailer

Jenna Dewan at the Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008 Event (October 21, 2008)

There's a lot going on with our favorite starlet, so I wanted to give you all a not-so-quick update. Enjoy!!!

NEW PHOTOS OF JENNA DEWAN AT VANITY FAIR PORTRAITS EVENT

If you've ever met Channing Tatum's fiancee Jenna Dewan, then you know (in addition to being gorgeous) she's extremely down-to-earth like Chan. She's so down-to-earth that I often lose sight of the fact that she's a celebrity...UNTIL I see her at events that is.

Jenna looked even more stunning than ever in an adorable Burberry dress at last night's star-studded Vanity Fair event. The magazine, in conjunction with the store Burberry, held a preview party to celebrate the opening of the "Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008" exhibit at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles, California.

Admittedly, I'm a little jealous. I may just have to steal her dress, bracelet, shoes, and legs while I'm at it the next time I see her. Fans can check out a ton of new photos of Jenna Dewan and the cutest little black dress ever at the event below:

NEW INTERVIEW

Below you can check out a new interview that Jenna did for Netscape.com's Celeb Insider where we get an update on some of her upcoming movies and her thoughts on the shortage of role models for young girls today...

CELEB INSIDER: Dewan's Heart Goes Out to Girls

At age 27, Jenna Dewan seems to have the world by the tail. Reportedly engaged (though she won't confirm) to hunky "Step Up" leading man Channing Tatum, she has a hot career with several movies on the way, including the Tim Allen comedy, "The Six Wives of Henry Lefay" -- making her transition from high school roles into young womanhood gracefully. She tells us she likes making films in which she can play strong women who impart good inspiration to young girls. Her forthcoming "Virgin on Bourbon Street" film, she says, has "a girl character that has a message." So did her recent "Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal" cable movie, in which she played the coach who fights her team's out-of-control bad behavior.

Her heart goes out to teen girls.

Making "Fab Five," she says she realized things have gotten tougher out there even than when she was in high school not that many years ago.

"Kids are being given so much freedom and with that is freedom to find drugs, sex and alcohol, sooner and sooner," notes the actress. "I have cousins who are 13 and I think, 'Oh! I can't watch this.'"

Part of the problem? "My take on it is, girls don't really have a lot of good role models today. They're looking up to starlets who are making mistakes themselves. I'm not blaming these celebrities," she makes clear. "I'm just saying that young people are seeing all this happening and thinking it's the norm, which is understandable."

'VIRGIN ON BOURBON STREET' CASTING CALL

Jenna Dewan will start filming her next movie 'Virgin on Bourbon Street' with comedian Rob Schneider next week in Michigan. I have read that the romantic comedy will be shot entirely on location in Greektown, Indian Village, various other downtown Detroit locations, and Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory School. They have also announced that they need extras for the week of October 27th.

While movie extras won't be compensated, there will be opportunities to win great prizes. The prizes will include: Plasma Screen Televisions, Motor Scooters, Microsoft X-box 360, SR and Digital video cameras, and filming will be conducted rain or shine.

If you're interested, please call RealStyle Casting at (248) 220-1034.

Below you will find locations, times, and what to wear if you want to try to be an extra on Jenna's new film:

  • Tuesday, October 28 - 8am - Greektown - Street Party Scene.
Must wear clothes without clearly branded logos. Dress casually as if going to an outdoor party. Must be 18. Shooting may last several hours. Free parking available at Greektown Casino parking structure.

  • Wednesday, October 29 - 6pm - Elysium Lounge - 625 Shelby St. - Girls Gone Wild style party. Must be 18-25 years of age - mostly female casting - Dress to impress - Filming could last several hours. Free parking at Greektown Casino parking structure.

  • Thursday, October 30 - 7pm - Greektown - Octoberfest party scene on the streets of Greektown - Outerwear with no logos - Must be 18 years old. Free parking at Greektown Casino parking structure.

NEW TRAILER RELEASED FOR 'ASSORTED NIGHTMARES: JANITOR'

A few months ago I told you all about Xbox 360's upcoming series of eight short films where horror directors are going to create comedies.

Jenna Dewan is starring in the first film that will be released, and its called 'Janitor'. From what I understand and can clearly see in the trailer below, this particular film is heavy on the horror and light on the comedy with a horror twist, unlike the other director's shorts, which I'm sure will make die-hard horror buffs even more happy.

Here's what the film short is about...

"When Jennifer (Jenna Dewan) escapes detention, she encounters the school Janitor, and quickly finds herself in the midst of his killing spree."

Just in time for Halloween, 'Janitor' debuts Friday, October 31, 2008 on the Xbox Live! Marketplace, but in the meantime you can check out the scary and bloody teaser for it below...don't say I didn't warn you.

I will soon be posting a movie update for Channing's films too, so stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped so you don't miss out on any of the scoop.

Channing Tatum Trivia Question of the Day

Channing Tatum Trivia Question of the Day (10-17-2008)It's been a really long time since I've posted a trivia question, so I thought I would try something a little different this time.

If you know the answer to the following Trivia Question of the Day, just add a comment to this blog entry and show the readers your Channing smarts.

If you don't know the answer, feel free to research it in the Channing Tatum Unwrapped Photo Gallery, on this blog, online, or where ever else you can get the answer. If there is no response in the next couple of days, I will post the answer on the blog.

Here is today's question:

Believe it or not, Channing Tatum is somewhere in the scrambled photo on this post. Can anyone find the photo in the CTU Photo Gallery and tell me when (month and year) and where the photo was taken?

FAN ENCOUNTERS: Chan and Jenna Hanging Out With More Charleston Fans

Channing Tatum and Fiancee Jenna Dewan with Fans Elizabeth and Jacqueline in Charleston, South Carolina (October 2008)

Recently, some lucky fans sent in a great photo they took with Channing Tatum and his fiancee Jenna Dewan at a local Urban Outfitters in Charleston, South Carolina.

Today's Fab Fan Encounter is an adorable photo that was submitted by Fabulous Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Fan Elizabeth W.. It's an awesome new photo of lovebirds Chan and Jenna with fans Elizabeth W. and Jacqueline C. in downtown Charleston, South Carolina last weekend on Saturday October 11, 2008.

Here's what Elizabeth had to say about their fan encounter...

"They are so easygoing and fun - all game for doing a "kissy faces" photo! Taken downtown in Charleston, this is a picture of Chan showing his love for his girlfriend Jenna while we all show our love for the camera. Jenna loves his hat as she had been wearing it for fun earlier. So cute!"

As you may or may not know, Channing started filming his 2009 romantic drama 'Dear John' in Charleston this week. On Monday, actress Amanda Seyfried, who plays Savannah, was shooting a scene at the College of Charleston with "Friday Night Lights" alum Scott Porter, who is playing the role of Tim.

Channing was also spotted filming on one of Charleston's beautiful beaches earlier this week. An onlooker had this to say about the fan-friendly star who made the day of some fans who were watching the shoot...

"Channing was gracious enough to go over to the girls after the shot and take as many photos as the girls wanted and spend a good deal of time talking with his group of fans. He actually was willing to allow anyone take photos that wanted one. Appears to be a pretty nice guy."

In addition to filming on the beach, there have been reports that the production was seen filming in the area at Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island where I hear they may be filming a bonfire party scene.

Below you can also check out even more fan encounter photos from the Channing Tatum Unwrapped photo gallery:

Don't forget that fans can always find the latest news on Channing from the set of his films on the Channing Tatum Unwrapped homepage.

Big thanks to Elizabeth for sending in the great photo! If you happen to run into Chan or Jenna, send your photos and fan encounter stories to fanencounters@channingtatumunwrapped.com. I will post them on the blog to share with envious fans all around the globe! ;-)

Channing Tatum Modeling for Greg Gorman for Interview Magazine (High Quality HQ)Favorite Channing Tatum Picture and Why?:

Huh, here starts the hard part. It's obvious that I love all of Chan's photos because he looks great in all of them. That's the main reason. The second one is that every single picture gives me the image of someone I truly admire and even though it's always same Channing Tatum - with different haircut, in different clothes etc., every single photo presents him in the different way.

He's a joker, a tough guy, hottie, the boy next door, a model...you know what I mean. It's not the movies that let me learn about Chan's personality, it's photos of him. But if I had to choose only one I'd choose this. It's a photo from Greg Goreman's photoshoot and the reason why I like it is that every time I look at it, it's telling me some kind of message: "You're a fighter, don't give up!" and who wouldn't listen to Chan, right? :P

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:

Up until now I 've been saying that my most favorite Chan movie was 'She’s The Man'. Now I have to split the first place between She's The Man and 'Stop-Loss'. Here goes my reasons why: 'She’s The Man' was the second movie I saw with Chan (first was Step Up, actually I saw 'She’s The Man' trailer in cinema right before Step Up) and I immediately fell in love with it. That was on August 21, 2006 but I saw the full 'She’s The Man' movie on December 11, 2006. (Write a blog and you won't forget these things! :D ) In that time I was dealing with some serious things I'd love to forget about but Chan and whole movie made my days bearable - I was able to watch it even three times a day, oops. Chan somehow gave me the needed strength to hold on and not give up and that's what I will always be thankful for. The movie also taught me the most important lesson for my life - don't give up your dream, if you believe it, you can do it! I also took some quotes from it as my personal mottos I live by, for example "If you can't join'em, beat'em." and many more. To be 100% honest, 'She’s The Man' has made me the way I am now.

Now to get back to 'Stop-Loss'. I just saw it about half an hour ago so my impressions are fresh and my eyes still a bit dry. Yeah, 'Stop-Loss' is the second movie in my life that made me cry (the first one was Star Wars Episode VI). I love war movies because I kind of grew up on them and my father was a soldier once and was sent to boot camp in the USA. I'm also interested in the whole Iraq conflict because (sorry for being political) I just don't get why thousands of young men from all over the world should die there so this movie is really important for knowing what the soldiers are going through. I felt really desperate and hopeless while watching 'Stop-Loss' because it's not fair for those kids being there, watching their friends die and then be stop-lossed. Thank you, Kimberley Pierce for making this movie!!!

Favorite Channing Tatum Scene and Why?:

Chan is amazing in every single scene of his movies but here goes my favorite 'She’s The Man' moments...everybody loves how he flips up his cell phone and then "bang!" with the head to that metal pole (whatever that is) or the little dance Chan does after talking with Olivia, also the spider scene is great or "Do you like che-che-cheese?" scene. I was laughing so hard when I saw Chan with the tampon in his nose, or that towel hit on Malcolm (I tried it on my bro and ouchie it really hurts) and I could list all other scenes I love in 'She’s The Man'. But my favorite is definitely the one in Cesario's when Monique comes, Andrew starts hitting on her and while she's saying her quote Chan starts laughing in the most adorable way he can. It's simple, unexpected, funny and it makes me laugh sooo much every time I see it. Also how he switches immediately from the laughter to pointing on Sebastian with serious face is amazing. And 'Stop-Loss'....I started crying during the scene when Chan is holding the US flag and he's saying the worst sentence people are supposed to hear. He was so in it and I felt every emotion that comes from his acting being so real and deep. Chan, you've really stepped up in your acting!

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie Quote and Why?:

I've got my favorite quotes said by Chan from almost all of his movies I've seen so far so here they goes:

'She’s The Man': "Don't be afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon."

'Step Up' moments: "I'm fighting, for something that's real for the first time in my life!"

'Stop-Loss': "We are soldiers, we stand for something."

The Trap’: "It's not about holding on, it's about letting go."

Coach Carter’: "You said we're a team. One person struggles, we all struggle. One person triumphs, we all triumph."

Favorite Upcoming Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:

I'm looking forward to ‘Battle in Seattle’ because I really enjoy movies based on the real life story as this one is. And obviously for many poeple who know me here on CTU, I'm excited to see ‘G.I.Joe’! The reason follows in the next answer.

Have you ever met Channing?:

Some months ago I thought I might be positive on this question but here is my story of almost meeting Channing Tatum:

In May/June Chan was here in Czech Republic and at the same time I was in Prague studying for my final exams. Well, it must be absolutely clear to you that I wasn't studying that much ;) I got the information where the ‘G.I.Joe’ filming set was so I was psyched about the fact that I might have a chance to meet my personal hero. I thought there's only one set and then another one in Barrandov studios that is not open for the public. I spent two days on the set near the Prague center, took tons of photos, saw stunts for Sienna Miller and others, crashing humvees, I was even considered being a part of the filming crew...well, you got the picture. But there was no Chan unfortunately for me.

Later, when I discovered the second set I found out from the staff that there was another, the third one where (I guess) was Chan and all the others. By that time it was closed and there was no filming anymore. You might think I was insane because I spent almost whole 4 days on my feet looking for Chan in whole Prague, asking strangers for the information etc. but even though I didn't meet him it was definitely worth it!!! So, I hope maybe next time I’ll be in the right place at the right time.

Why are you a Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan?:

I’m just an ordinary dedicated Chan’s fan...or that's how I see myself. Thank you Quishe for choosing me for this thing because it means sooo much to me you don't even know. Since I’m supposed to answer why am I a fabulous Channing Tatum fan, I'll try to do my best and do it. I consider myself a Chan fan since I first saw 'She’s The Man' in 2006. I had my ups and downs but I was always supporting him, talking about him or his movies with my friends, quoting 'She’s The Man' scenes in my English classes and in the ordinary situations so much that I was even annoying for my classmates. But it was fun for me. But I had a certain feeling that I'm missing something.

One day when I was working on my ex-site about Robert Hoffman I accidentally ran into CTU. It's been almost half a year now since I first read the whole post on CTU and I'm hooked on it ever since. I'm on it daily, got it in my bookmarks, I read every single post, watch videos and photos, chat on cbox, make my own videos as a small gesture of support etc. CTU is not an ordinary site it's a huge family and thanks to Quishe who works so hard every single day we've got a real, heartwarming connection with Chan and his family and that's what keeps me even more excited about being Chan fan. I know that he really cares!!! It's important for me to know that someone who has changed me and made me fight for things I really want is connected with me and all of his fans in such way.

Thank you Chan and Quishe!!! I hope to meet you both one day! I LOVE YOU!!!

Learn More About Channing Tatum and His Upcoming Movie 'Fighting' from Director Dito Montiel

Channing Tatum Filming on the Manhattan, New York Set of 'Fighting' (September 26, 2007 - High Quality - HQ)Dito Montiel, the director of Channing Tatum's critically acclaimed 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' and his upcoming 2009 action drama 'Fighting', was recently interviewed by UK sight FutureMovies.com. In the interview snippet below we learn why Dito thinks Channing is like a "young Steve McQueen" (the ultra-cool and Oscar-nominated male film star of the 1960s).

Dito Montiel on Fighting, Clapping and Being an Unlikely Filmmaker

"Writer, director and musician Dito Montiel first came to the public’s attention in 1989 when his hardcore band, Gutterboy, signed to Geffen Records for $1million. In 2003, he published A Guide To Recognising Your Saints, a memoir of his life growing up in Queens, New York, during the 1980s hardcore punk scene, which chronicled his time touring, his brief modelling career and his old neighbourhood

Adapting aspects of the best-selling book into a screenplay, he was persuaded to direct it by Robert Downey Jr., who starred in the 2007 film adaptation as the adult Dito, alongside Shia LaBeouf as his younger self and Channing Tatum.

Montiel’s second novel, Eddie Krumble Is The Clapper, about a professional audience member who’s transformed into a celebrity by Jay Leno was published last year. His second film, Fighting, starring Tatum and Terence Howard as underground street fighters, is released in 2009.

He speaks to Future Movies about genuine fight scenes, the grim reality of being a television clapper and his latest project, based on real, unsolved murders.

Is it true the film company made a trailer for Fighting before they’d even seen the movie?

Yeah, it’s hysterical and beyond me how that’s possible. I think they just got the footage and decided well, Channing looks good without his shirt, we’ll go with that.

Is it like Fight Club?
No, not at all. Originally, they had a script that was horrible. I thought it was pretty bad at least, about basketball players that gamble. What, everyone’s broke but they own Hummers?! One of those.

So they asked me if I’d rewrite it for them and I said, “if you’re talking about guys from the street, the most I’ve ever seen change hands is $20”. I’m more interested in the idea of two people meeting who need each other because they’re a little bit lost.

Now, I like basketball, but there’s only so many ways you can dunk a ball. And when they called up and said, “turn it into fighting”, I told them they were crazy. This would be good for someone else to make but not me.

Still, I started writing it and really had fun with it, referencing retro films like The Warriors. I figured if you’re going to go for it, why not have some fun? So I said look, Terence Howard is itching to do something, let me get him and Channing together, plus some other actors I really like, say Roger Smith and Luis Guzmán. I didn’t want it to be one of these “I’m gonna kick your ass” movies. I wanted it to be something fun that we’re all glad we made.

Channing Tatum on the set of 'Fighting'

Do the characters of Sean (Tatum) and Harvey (Howard) bond through fighting?
Yeah, sort of. The first time you meet Harvey, he’s complaining about someone charging him too much for a soda. They just kind of strap onto each other, start roaming together and when they get thrown into this thing, the mentor needs another guy. But the idea of Harvey being a mentor should surprise the audience because he’s someone who’ll argue about the price of a pizza.

As the film is set in New York, do you bring a degree of authenticity to it?
As with my last movie, I think that if you bring relatively real things to a movie, it’s more fun. A lot of things I see in movies … I don’t mind a guy flying, because I know that’s not real. But if you try to portray a reality and you make it really corny, that’s shit. So instead of making them guys who were excited to fight and wanted to be the champion of the world, they would rather just hang around together. But they suddenly get thrown into it and the fights end up being crazy, which is fun because I’ve never done that before. In Saints I had two little fights and I let them really beat each other up. In this movie, at first the producers kept telling me ‘well, you can’t let them do that’. But of course, it looks more real, because they’re really fighting. So we let them really fight and we got some crazy footage. It was very exciting.

Channing Tatum and Director Dito Montiel on the Set of 'Fighting' (High Quality - HQ)Channing’s a maniac. Really crazy, but in a good way. And he’s turned into a really good actor. I joke with him all the time. When I met him I didn’t think he was right for the last movie. And then, when they praised him, I told him ‘I don’t know what the hell they’re praising you about, you weren’t that good’.

I mean, I thought he was good, but the character was quite close to who he was, I don’t know if you’d call it acting. Now though, I think he can really act. He reminds me of a young Steve McQueen. I haven’t seen a guy in a movie like this in a long time.

'Fighting' is set to hit theaters some time in 2009, but in the meantime, fans can read my exclusive interview with Chan on set last year and check out tons of photos and videos from the set of the film below:
