NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's 'Dear John' by Nicholas Sparks Releases in Paperback Tomorrow
As I previously posted on the blog in March, Channing Tatum is going to star in the New Line Cinema movie 'Dear John', which is based on the popular Nicholas Sparks book of the same name.
Sparks' books have been turned into a number of memorable romance films, including "The Notebook", "A Walk to Remember" and "Message in a Bottle." His book "Nights in Rodanthe" will also be coming out next with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
Until now, you could only find the book in hard cover and they have been difficult to find all around the world, but I just wanted to let CTU readers know that the less expensive paperback version of the book will hit the bookstores tomorrow, August 7th, 2007.
I know that some CTU readers have already read the book or are currently reading it. They highly recommend it and have said over and over again that the part is going to be perfect for Channing.
A screen writer by the name of Jamie Linden was chosen in June to adapt the book into a film and the production is currently working on the film's treatment and outline. In case you don't know, a treatment (aka film treatment) is a short prose telling of a story intended to be turned in a screenplay for a motion picture. It is generally shorter and less detailed than either an outline or a step outline but it may include details of directorial style that an outline omits.
So if you want a good read, I recommend that check out 'Dear John' from your local library or go get your own copy! I know the book is also available in ebook format on iTunes.com, too.
