NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum Stars in New Movie with 'Stomp The Yard's Columbus Short
Is it just me or has it become insanely obvious that Channing is in high demand and seems to be on everyone's short list when they are casting movies these days? I mean, do most actors have like 11 projects in production and/or development all at the same time?
Just when I think his upcoming projects list can't get any bigger, another news article pops up talking about yet another role being awarded to our favorite actor.
We don't know a ton about the new film, but we do know that Channing will be starring in what is being called a "Buddy Action Film" with rival dance movie star Columbus Short from 'Stomp the Yard' . It's no secret that I LOVED Channing in 'Step Up', but I did also enjoy watching Columbus in 'Stomp the Yard', so it will be fun watching the hottness meter rise when these two end up on screen together.
How much do you want to bet they may work in a dance scene somehow? Maybe during one of those action scenes? I'm picturing a young, hot Crockett and Tubbs (ala Miami Vice) busting a move on the dance floor in a club scene or something. Just a thought... :-)
Here's the Hollywood Reporter article that talks about the new dynamic duo:
Tatum, Short in Col film
By Tatiana Siegel
Channing Tatum and Columbus Short are attached to topline an untitled buddy action film for Columbia Pictures. Neal Moritz is producing through his Sony-based Original Film shingle.
David Elliot and Paul Lovett, who wrote the Mark Wahlberg starrer "Four Brothers," penned the screenplay, which is being kept under wraps.
DeVon Franklin brought the project into iSony and is shepherding for the studio. Elizabeth Buraglio is overseeing for Original.
Tatum became an in-demand actor after his breakout performance in the dance drama hit "Step Up." His credits include the indie "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" and Paramount Pictures' upcoming "Stop Loss."
He is repped by WMA, Management 360 and attorney Rick Genow.
Short, whose credits include the dance-themed "Stomp the Yard" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," recently wrapped "This Christmas" for Screen Gems. He is handled by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Wow...haven't heard about this in a while. I wonder if the writer's strike has affected this at all. Sure did with Pinkville. It also brings up another question, what about the Standford Prison project?
