NEWS FLASH: New Logo and Storyline Information for Channing Tatum's 'G.I. Joe'
Above is the newly released logo for Channing Tatum's 2009 live action movie 'G.I. Joe'. Hasbro recently had their 2008 Collector Media Day Event at the Times Center in New York City. The fans and media in attendance were not only shown the new logo and Hasbro's 2008 Toy and Action Figure Line-Up, but they also got to see many of their new feature film previews.
'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', 'Iron Man', and 'The Incredible Hulk' were expected, but the huge surprise came at the start of the program where Hasbro's Neal Hoffman and Aaron Archer played a 5 minute preview from Paramount for 'G.I. Joe'.
The film centers around a speechless Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Storm Shadow (Byung-Hun Lee) and the female roles of The Baroness (Sienna Miller) and Scarlett (Rachel Nichols), who play big parts equal to the lead characters Destro (Chris Eccleston) and Duke (Channing Tatum).
They even learned that the movie's plot will involve two different love stories, which may include either or both of the afore-mentioned female leads. Although they are not saying which male characters will be their love interests, I have to assume one of them could be Channing's character Duke. We'll have to wait and see.
G.I. Joe fan site Hisstank.com learned the following from the presentation:
"We can expect to see many geographic locales in G.I. Joe, because the story is going to take us all over the world to places like including the arctic, the bottom of the ocean, Northern Sierra, Moscow, Washington D.C. and more. Finally, we can expect to see next generation military equipment in the film, for example a chief scene in Paris where the characters will be using next generation military equipment that will allow them to run faster and jump higher than normal people."

Joe' fans (and anyone who's just curious), you can CLICK HERE to get a complete explanation of some of the vehicles and suits that the characters will be using and wearing during the movie. The film, directed by Stephen Sommers, is scheduled for an August 7, 2009 release and by then I can almost guarantee I and many CTU readers will probably be certified, card-carrying 'G.I. Joe' experts...because knowing is half the battle. ;-)
