NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's 'G.I. Joe' Starts Shooting This Week
In an earnings announcement today, Hasbro's President and Chief Executive, Alfred Verrecchia, said the soon-to-be-over writer's strike has not delayed the filming start of Channing Tatum's live-action film 'G. I. Joe' and that everything is currently on schedule.
He also mentioned the movie was going to start filming today (two days earlier than the widely publicized February 13, 2008 start date) in Los Angeles, California. Thankfully there's a lot of eyes and interest on this movie, so let's hope that translates into the release of lots of on set photos during filming. I personally can't wait to see G. I. Chan in action!
On another good note, Channing's co-star Dennis Quaid (who plays General Hawk along side Chan's character Duke Hauser) has been saying in recent interviews that 'G. I. Joe' is being billed as a franchise movie and that he has signed on for 3 films.
In addition to seeing Chan in what is destined to become the 'G. I. Joe' trilogy, Hasbro will also be creating action figures and accessories for the characters, and there's even talks of a video game too! So I think it's safe to assume that we can plan on seeing Chan as G.I. Joe in lots of different forms in the coming years.
After the recent addition of Czech Supermodel Karolína Isela Kurková (who you may have last seen on a Victoria's Secret runway) in the role of Cover Girl and today's re-cast of Destro (David Murray was not able to get his US work Visa in time to start filming), we now have the following cast list and the roles they will be playing:

ok i change my mind... ive said at the cbox that im gonnabuy hundreds of the GI Joe collectibles... ive changed my mind! im gonna buy millions!!!!!!!! omg this is so cool! i wanna see him shooting the film it would be so awesome..
one more wish though i hope they will shoot some parts here at the philippines!! they need too!!!! wahhhhh!!!!!!!!!
