NEWS FLASH: Check Out Channing Tatum as GQ's Man of Next Year!!!
As I mentioned on the blog recently, Channing Tatum was chosen as one of GQ Magazine's 2007 Men of the Year in the December 2007 issue. The magazine features three separate covers you can see below with former President Bill Clinton, the current James Bond Daniel Craig, and rapper/producer Kanye West. GQ's Man of Next Year - Channing Tatum
We're calling it right now --- 2008 will be Channing Tatum's year. Tatum first broke out as an overprotective neighborhood tough in 2006's A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, exuding grown-up menace and serious pathos in one of those grimy indie performances that can so often go wrong. Film buffs noticed. So did Hollywood execs. And the 27 year-old has been working pretty much nonstop ever since. In 2008, Tatum has a trifecta of Big Serious Movies hitting theaters: He'll play a cop in Battle in Seattle (about the 1999 WTO protests)l a kid who gets dragged into the world of underground street fighting in Fighting (yes, that's the title; it's directed by Dito Montiel, who directed Tatum in Saints); and an active-duty soldier in Kimberly Peirce's Boys Don't Cry follow-up, Stop-Loss. "He's fundamentally masculine, " says Peirce. "And he has all kinds of raw talent. For Hollywood, he's just there for the taking." From where we stand, it looks like he's already taken. As I was looking through the magazine, I was also happy to find Channing Tatum's real-life girlfriend Jenna Dewan featured in a Women on the Verge article that shows a history of women they have chosen with breakout performances.The photo featured in the article shows Jenna in the sexy Marc Hom photoshoot she did for GQ last year when she was chosen as the October 2006 Woman on the Verge.
