NEWS FLASH: Movie Update for Channing Tatum's Project with Columbus Short
As one commenter pointed out on my last post, with more than seven movies (that we currently know of) in various phases of production, Channing Tatum is one VERY busy actor. Today's post is a small update on one of those many projects.
As I previously mentioned on the blog in August '07, Channing Tatum will be starring in what's being touted as a "buddy action" film with fellow actor-on-the-rise Columbus Short ('Stomp the Yard', 'This Christmas', 'Quarantine').
Since the film was announced, it was referred to as the "Untitled Channing Tatum/Columbus Short Project". Maybe not the most creative temporary title, but I'm learning that this type of titling happens often with films in the beginning stages. Thanks to a recent interview that Columbus Short did to promote his latest film, we now have a more proper title for the film.
The 'Cadillac Records' star was interviewed by BlackVoices.com to promote the critically-acclaimed film, and when asked about his upcoming projects, here's what he had to say about his film with Chan...
"Sony Pictures is developing an action film for me and Channing Tatum where we are two undercover cops in New York. The title may change but for now, it's called 'Any Means Necessary'." - Columbus Short
Based on the film's IMDB status, it's currently in the scripting stage and is set for a 2009 release. I think we can safely assume that release date will probably shift to at least 2010 for this one, and although the title has not been updated on IMDB yet, I'll be referring to this film (until further notice) as 'Any Means Necessary'.
Just to give you a heads up...Fan club members stay tuned, because in an upcoming post will include a newly released photo of Chan for his 2009 blockbuster 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'!!! Not a member of the fan club? CLICK HERE to join for free!
