LIVE Coverage and New Photos from the Dizzy Feet Foundation 2009 Benefit Gala
Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to Los Angeles to attend tonight's Dizzy Feet benefit gala where Jenna Dewan-Tatum will be perform with Briana Evigan ('Step Up 2') and Sharni Vinson ('Step Up 3') and Channing Tatum will also present with Rob Hoffman ('Step Up 2') and Rick Malambri ('Step Up 3'), but I won't let that stop any of us from getting the very latest news from the event.
For those who don't know, Dizzy Feet Foundation was founded in 2009 by producer Nigel Lythgoe, director Adam Shankman, "Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Katie Holmes to help underprivileged young people realize their dream of becoming professional dancers and to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the Unites States.
I have setup a new Twitter list on Chan's official Twitter that will let fans follow over 70 (and counting) Dizzy Feet benefit gala participants and fan attendees so you can get the inside scoop on the event as it happens.
Jenna has said she'll try to tweet photos and video from the event if possible and you can follow her, Chan, some of the other attendees, and fans tweeting about the event in the Cover It Live event window below. Enjoy!!!
UPDATE: The sold out benefit is not televised, so fans can check out all of the red carpet and behind-the-scenes photos of Chan and Jenna from the event in the CTU Photo Gallery. I've also posted a few of the new pics below...
And thanks to the magic of the internet, I have a video that a Dizzy Feet attendee posted tonight on Youtube. Right around the 2:16 mark, you can check out Chan presenting his "beautiful wife" and watch a part of Jenna's performance to Beyonce's "Sweet Dreams"! Enjoy!!!
What's next for the always busy couple? With this event completed, Chan can now focus on promoting his next film, 'Dear John', which hits theaters on February 5th and can prepare for his next role in 'Son of No One', which is scheduled to start filming in New York in February too.
Jenna will start filming her next movie, 'Slightly Single in L.A.', with best friend Haylie Duff this Wednesday, and her drama 'Falling Awake' is scheduled to be released in theaters in January via IFC Films.
Since this is the first time I've mentioned 'Slightly Single' by name, here's what the romantic comedy is all about...
Dale Squire is a hip, quirky, independent single gal living in the glossy city of Los Angeles. She makes ends meet by working in the obscure world of reality television, while pursuing her passion as a photographer. After several failed attempts in quasi-relationships, Dale concludes that finding a meaningful relationship in L.A. is impossible. After all, a girl can only take so many toe-sucking fashion photographers and star-seeking personal trainers. And in Los Angeles, there are many of these men. But being anti-social is tough for any young girl in Hollywood, and with Dale's entourage - Jill: a high maintenance ex-soap star obsessed with her own wedding, Becca: an honest C-list actress waiting for her big break in Hollywood, Seven: Dale's flamboyant house mate, and Hallie: a super sexy, laid back jewelry designer - she is lucky to have such a reliable group of friends in a city where it's easy to get lost. With Jill's frantic wedding right around the corner, Dale finds herself reflecting on the significance of marriage, and the mutual respect needed for a successful relationship. When Zach, a successful heartthrob actor and old friend of Dale's, finds his way back into her life, Dale slowly starts to think that maybe finding love in L.A. is possible - the only problem is that her realization might have come too late, leaving Dale in a silent love triangle, with no way out. After a ton of travel, Jenna told me she's excited to be able to film close to home. Good luck to Jen on her new role!
