CTU EXCLUSIVE NEWS: Channing Tatum Project Update...Chan Will 'Fight' and 'Step Up 2', But Won't 'Push'

One of my goals once CTU became Channing Tatum's official site was to get an accurate list of upcoming projects to the fans.

In the crazy movie business it's very difficult to juggle schedules, so projects will be announced with actors tied to them and then often, scheduling conflicts or other factors will make that cast list change prior to the start of filming. We've already seen this happen recently with Channing Tatum and the ill-fated 'Poor Things' project that was delayed by Lindsay Lohan and other production factors.

Well it seems that the scheduling conflict issues have reared their ugly head again, but since CTU is now Channing's official site (Sorry I can't seem to stop saying that. I promise it'll wear off soon...maybe :-P ), I can get the low-down on what projects Channing is actually going to be working on. Mind you, things happen and could change, but here is what Channing's camp is telling me now...

As I previously posted, Channing Tatum is scheduled to start filming his untitled underground street fighting movie with Oscar nominated actor Terrence Howard and director Dito Montiel next month. He is currently meeting with both of them in New York where his girlfriend Jenna Dewan also happens to be filming her most recent project. That's why we were able to see our favorite couple together at Butter earlier this week in New York. I'm sure they'll be happy that they get to work near each other.

Channing's previously announced project 'Push' also starts filming in Hong Kong next month, which is where the scheduling conflict comes in. Although Channing has a list of skills as long as my arm, he has yet to master the difficult talent of being in two places at one time. Now once that whole replication thing is perfected, I'm thinking there's a market for Channing clones.

OK back to reality...

His camp is telling me that the fighting movie has beat out 'Push' in the scheduling wars, which means that Channing will remain stateside and will hopefully be filming in New York.

Even more exciting is that they confirmed Channing's cameo in 'Step Up 2: The Streets' is still on his schedule, so fans can now breath a sigh of relief and rejoice in the fact that we will once again see Chan in a 'Step Up' film. YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Finally, I am told that his next project will probably be the Oliver Stone directed Vietnam movie 'Pinkville' where Channing is set to co-star with Oscar & Golden Globe winner and veteran actor Sean Penn. From the director with three Oscars to the Oscar winning co-star, a film with that kind of pedigree is an amazing opportunity for Channing and his career. I am so happy that he has been cast in this film and being cast in it is a shining example of how Hollywood feels about Channing and his abilities.

So that's it's for now. I will update all of the upcoming projects on the blog to reflect what I've told you above and stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped for daily news on what's going on in Chan's world!

NEWS FLASH: Update on Channing Tatum's Movie 'Poor Things'

If you've been reading the blog a while, then you know that Channing Tatum was chosen along with Lindsay Lohan (aka LiLo) and Rosario Dawson for roles in the movie 'Poor Things'.

Just to quickly recap, LiLo went to rehab for the second time this year right around the time the movie was supposed to start filming in May, she extended her stay in rehab (a lot of good that did her), had a relapse quickly after exiting the extended rehab, and is now in her third try at rehab this year in Utah. Now in the middle of all of that mess, 'Poor Things' decided to stick by their troubled starlet, lost Channing in the process, and replaced him with Giovanni Ribisi.

Channing went from being listed as part of the cast on the movie's IMDB profile to being listed as rumored with Giovanni added to the list and now only Giovanni remains on the cast list.

So finally the IMDB profile for the movie has been updated to reflect what we all have known for quite sometime. Channing is not going to be in 'Poor Things' at this point, because of scheduling conflicts caused by LiLo-induced production delays. Just so you know, I am basing this on information from production insiders and the IMDb update. I am hoping I can confirm this and all of the rest of Chan's project committments very soon.

But if you talk to crew and cast who were working on the project, they are saying that the entire production either has been canceled or is extremely close to being canceled completely.

One poster on IMDB who worked with the production said the following, "I was working on it. It's been over for a while...The offices are all but shut down and no one is on staff any more. There is no movie."

An actress who had a role on the film contacted me and had this to say, "The movie has been 'shelved'. I spoke to Shirley's [MacLaine's] publicist a few days ago and even SHE didn't know what was happening. Nobody is talking, but I was told the 'offices' for the production are shut down (at a Marina del Rey Hotel) and that everyone is going off to do other projects. I stopped getting calls about what was happening or when or where or how around mid July."

We may never get to see Channing in this ill-fated movie, but I did my homework and found out what roles Channing and LiLo would be playing in the film.

'Poor Things' was based on a true story about two older women (played by Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis) who somehow took out insurance polices on unsuspecting homeless men and then, believe it or not, killed them to get the insurance money.

The actress who contacted me told me that Channing had a really cool role where he was going to play a young homeless 'victim' of Olympia and Shirley's characters and is picked up by them at a homeless shelter. From what she says, "There were scenes that would show how hot he is and the role would have/could have shown the depth of his acting abilities."

Only Channing could somehow make homelessness look hot.

Ironically, LiLo was going to play the niece of Shirley's character who is also a messed up, crazy druggy just out of a mental institution. Wow! Can we say "type cast"? Maybe the second stay at rehab was really just research for this role! That may be why it didn't work. She did not realize she was REALLY supposed to be doing rehab.

OK, I'm totally kidding. Multiple visits to rehab is a common occurance among people with LiLo's problems. Let's just hope for her sake that the third times a charm and she truly takes it seriously this time.

Well, I was looking forward to seeing Channing in this dark comedy, but I guess that's Hollywood! And when I really think about it, I wasn't quite ready to see Channing get killed in a movie anyway. That might have freaked me out a little.

I believe that everything happens for a reason, so not being in this movie seems to have already opened the door for his many other projects, which I am sure will have much less drama than this one did (hopefully).

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's 'Poor Things' Status Gets Updated

Ok, so I've tried really hard to not write about Channing Tatum's project 'Poor Things' too much lately because keeping up with his co-star Lindsay Lohan's personal issues (she just entered rehab for the third time this year) and the off-again/on-again status of the film is like watching a high-speed tennis match at this point and I'm getting whiplash.

Page Six and other gossip outlets are saying that the movie has been shelved indefinitely, but the 'Poor Things' production team is saying that it's still on. Rosario Dawson (another actress on the film) was recently interviewed on ExtraTV.com and she says the following, "...clearly Lindsay wasn’t on set." So it seems that the production is proceeding without LiLo for now.

Some are saying that Lindsay Lohan has been dropped from the project for her cornucopia (now that's an SAT word for you) of personal issues and her inability to get insured for the film.

Regardless, there is one irrefutable fact that I can report. Channing's status on 'Poor Things' has now been updated to "rumored" (no surprise) and the production team has finally added Giovanni Ribisi (Channing's "rumored" replacement in the film) to the cast list on IMDB (again, no surprise).

I actually just saw an E! news report yesterday on Channing's recent Vanity Fair article and they were still reporting that he is going to be in 'Poor Things' with LiLo. Whether either of them are still in the movie or not, letting us all believe they are both still tied to the film gets the film mentioned.

With all of the upcoming projects Channing has on his plate, I still believe he has had to turn down this role because of scheduling conflicts caused by Lilo's rehab. I think the 'Poor Things' production team has decided to keep his name tied to the project as long as they can, because Channing's name brings a lot of good publicity (which they really need at this point).

I could be totally wrong about why they still have Chan's name on the cast list, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

NEWS FLASH: Lindsay Lohan Causes Cancellation of Channing Tatum's 'Poor Things'

Sadly this is no surprise to me, but Page Six is saying today that Channing Tatum's movie has now been cancelled, mostly because of Lindsay Lohan's decision to celebrate her exit from rehab with a party in Las Vegas and multiple other clubs and partially because the production was not managed well over all.

I definitely think Lindsay's decision to have an alcohol monitoring device after rehab was a step in the right direction, but I just don't understand why she seemed hell bent on proving to everyone that she could party and stay sober and off drugs. Why wouldn't she just lay low and stay away from the clubs for a while? It was just a recipe for disaster.

And now the worst has happened. She's pretty much single-handedly brought the entire 'Poor Things' production down with her.

From the Page Six article below we learn that Channing was no longer part of the cast and had been replaced by Giovanni Ribisi (as I had been saying on the blog for a while now). The random friend of Lindsay quoted in the article states that they don't know why the replacement occurred, but I and my sources know it was because Channing had scheduling conflicts with his next film and he had to turn down the role.

I feel really sorry for the actors, actresses, and crew that are now out of jobs because of this debacle. Channing has a ton of other projects to move on to, but a lot of the other people involved are not in the same boat. The producer's decision to postpone for LiLo was noble, but was a horrible business decision. I am hoping that other productions learn from this movie's mistakes when they think about hiring LiLo in the future (until she truly gets her life together).

You can take a look at the entire Page Six article below:

IT may be too late for Lindsay Lohan's movie career. Despite her submission to alcohol monitoring and drug tests, Hollywood studios have become wary of working with the hard-partying star.

Lohan was supposed to start filming "Poor Things" with Shirley MacLaine when she was out of rehab. But last week, product vendors including GE and Dell computers, who had been promised placement in the movie in exchange for cash, got a disturbing e-mail from set designer Fontaine Beauchamp Hebb.

Hebb's e-mail, with the subject line: " 'Poor Things' has been cancelled," said, "Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but I just received a call from Jacky Gilardi, the producer, pulling the plug on the ill-fated film.

"Apparently, Ms. Lohan's antics in Las Vegas over the weekend have scared the bond companies and all of the funding has been pulled . . . I look forward to working together in the future and trust our next project will not be as fraught with difficulty."

The insurers were said to worry that Lohan, despite wearing an alcohol-monitoring device around her ankle and claiming to take daily drug tests, had gone out clubbing with pals. (Ironically, the plot of "Poor Things" involves two women who befriend and then murder homeless men to collect their life insurance.)

But a Lohan friend fumes: "She had nothing to do with that movie shutting down. It was a mess to begin with. They randomly fired Channing Tatum for Giovanni Ribisi, and then financing fell through because producers spent money like water. It was only supposed to cost $4 million - Lindsay was being paid nothing for that role.

"Lindsay is proving to everyone that she is - and will remain - sober by voluntarily wearing the ankle bracelet and taking drug tests. This is not about her work. It's about her being able to live her life and go out with her friends without people writing nasty items about her."

UPDATE (July 21, 2007): Producers of the movie 'Poor Things' are now saying that it has not been cancelled, but as far as I can tell, Channing is no longer a part of this project. I am sure we will be hearing more from the real-life soap opera for way longer than any of us really wish to, and stay tuned to CTU for the latest dish.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's New Indie Film "The Trap" with Rita Wilson and Glamour Magazine

Since Lindsay Lohan has completed her extended program and has officially checked herself out of rehab as of today, that means that Channing Tatum's project 'Poor Things' will hopefully be able to to start filming soon.

Sadly, there's one big problem...it will probably start filming without Channing Tatum (as I have mentioned numerous times on this blog).

A CTU reader posted a message on the blog today saying that they have a relative on the 'Poor Things' production team and they "confirmed" that Channing did have to turn down the role and it has been recast. :-(

As soon as I can get official confirmation on this, I will let you all know. If this is true, I hope for 'Poor Things' and their investors that their decision to postpone was well worth the loss in talent and draw that Channing would have brought to the film. And I'll leave it at that (for now).

But don't fret Channing fans, it seems that he has yet another project in the works this summer. Variety.com posted the following article about Channing's involvement in a new indie movie directed by actress and first time director Rita Wilson (Tom Hanks's wife for those who don't know).

It seems that the film is a part of an annual competition that Glamour Magazine has with it's readers. In January, readers wrote essays about a true event in their life, the magazine selected a handful of those essays and had three first-time women directors pick from the group of essays. All of the films are supposed to be made on a small budget in only three days this summer. Rita Wilson's film is called 'The Trap' and Channing was chosen as one of the main actors in the small production. As the article below says, the film was created with director of photography Don Burgess at a landmark movie house in downtown L.A..

You can read the article to learn more about the cool project and about how we all will hopefully be able to see it in the next few months. Because of the innovative ways that they are planning on distributing these films, I am excited about the prospect that Channing's fans around the world will be able to see this new movie. Read on to learn more...

Stars Take Glamour Shots

Magazine's directors ready for closeups

By ANNE THOMPSON

This summer, production begins in Los Angeles on Glamour magazine's third series of Reel Moments, three short films directed by Hollywood insiders.

The shorts from 2007's rookie directors, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Hudson and Rita Wilson, are based on true stories submitted by Glamour readers.

Past first-timers include Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Bryce Dallas Howard and writer Talia Lugacy, whose popular "Little Black Dress" yielded a directing gig on the upcoming revenge thriller "The Descent," starring Rosario Dawson.

In a contest in Glamour's January issue, the magazine asked readers to submit essays of 750 words or less about an event in their lives that made them feel strong, wise or happy. After Glamour culled thousands of entries down to hundreds, Dunst, Hudson and Wilson each picked one story to adapt and shoot in L.A. with a mid-six-figure budget in just three days: no reshoots.

Hudson starts filming in several weeks in Altadena. The '70s-period father-daughter story stars Kurt Russell opposite Dakota Fanning, comedian Kevin Hart and Chevy Chase. "I'll get my brothers out there stopping traffic," said Hudson, who has always enjoyed writing. "Directing is something I always thought I'd do, but not in this way."

Wilson heard about the series from Trudie Styler, whose short "Wait," debuted in 2005. Aniston, who shot her film "Room 10" last year, offered support through the process, said Wilson, who has already filmed "The Trap" with director of photography Don Burgess at a landmark movie house in downtown L.A. "I called in some favors," said the actress, who also took input from husband Tom Hanks. "It's a story about someone getting in touch with who she is." Jeanne Tripplehorn, Aisha Tyler, Camilla Bell and Channing Tatum star.

Dunst will shoot her short in August.

This year, Glamour will invite aspiring women filmmakers to apply for a filmmaking grant, said Glamour vice president and publisher Bill Wackermann. A committee of Glamour's short film alumnae will select the winner, who will be announced at the October 9 L.A. premiere of the 2007 shorts, which are presented by Clinique.

The shorts will also debut at theaters in the hometowns of the winning Glamour essayists and will be available for streaming at glamour.com and clinique.com. DVDs of the individual shorts will be distributed in 2,300 Clinique stores. They will eventually be available for download at iTunes, whose customers have watched the first-season shorts some 700,000 times.

Glamour is also organizing the first Reel Moments Summit in the L.A. area in January, which will bring together series alumnae with other Hollywood women to discuss the state of women in film and what stories should be told. " 'Transformers' is not the story," said Wackermann. "These are inspiring stories for women. I hope popular culture will continue to pick up the message of these films."

Thanks to their star power, Reel Moments shorts have grabbed gobs of media attention for Glamour, which boasts a circulation of 2.5 million. Paltrow's "Dealbreaker" screened at the Sundance Film Festival; altogether, the shorts have played 25 festivals. The song that Styler's husband, Sting, performed in her short, "Wait," won a Grammy. Oprah Winfrey devoted an entire show to the project's positive impact on women in film.

Wackermann came up with the Reel Moments concept 3 ½ years ago with associate publisher Leslee Russo. "We knew what our message about empowering women looks like inside the magazine," he said. "What would it look like outside? We took real readers and made films about real women. And we asked A-list actresses to be part of it. After Gwyneth Paltrow, other actresses heard about it. There's a community of women in Hollywood."

Freestyle's Francesca Silvestri has produced the shorts from the series' inception.

NEWS FLASH: Update on Channing Tatum's Movie 'Poor Things' from EOnline.com

As Lindsay Lohan tries to acclimate herself into the world post-rehab, life has continued to go on as far as Channing Tatum's film 'Poor Things' is concerned.

Although we still don't know if Channing will be able to do the film or if his scheduling conflicts will force a recast, we do know from sources and now from E! Online that the project will start filming mid-July as I previously posted on the blog after talking to one of the actresses from the film.

Here is a recent E! Online article that updates us on the 'Poor Things' production....

Lindsay's Next Check-In

Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay may not have checked out of rehab yet, but we already know where she'll be checking in next! Expect to see her take up residence, at least temporarily, at the Marriott hotel in Marina Del Rey. No, the accommodations won't be as posh as her very upscale oceanfront room at the Malibu rehab center where she's been undergoing treatment for addiction. But she does have some pretty high-powered stars awaiting her arrival: Olympia Dukakis and Shirley MacLaine. The trio are expected to shoot the first scenes of their new movie, Poor Things, from the Marriott property.

"Olympia and Shirley already have rooms here. They've been here for several weeks, while Lindsay's been in rehab, just rehearsing," an insider at the hotel reveals to E! Online's Planet Gossip Vine show cohost Tina Dirmann. "Now, they're waiting for her arrival."

Lindsay <span class=

Meanwhile, the veteran actresses have also been keeping track of their youngest costar's problems, catching up on all the news reports of Lindsay's wild partying ways prerehab—and on her decision to go into rehab just days before the actresses were to begin filming their black comedy flick, based on the true story of two women who married and murdered a string of homeless men after taking out life insurance policies on them.

"They are both well aware of Lindsay's problems and are just waiting as patiently as they can for her to recover and start working," Dirmann's source reveals. "It's funny, because this has all meant they've also read a lot on all the other troubled Young Hollywood starlets and how crazy they all seem. They are particularly interested in Nicole Richie too, because she's Lionel's daughter. And they both know Lionel. But honestly, they don't seem to think anything they've read is any worse than what happened to young stars of their day."

Olympia even playfully dubbed Lindsay, Paris, Britney and Nicole "the newest brat pack."

Still, Lindsay may already be trying the patience of her new costars by opting to extend her stay at Promises, pushing filming back even further.

"Plans are to film around her as much as possible," the source added. "What else can they do? So far, there are a lot of crew members for the movie still up at the hotel, working from their rooms, doing as much as possible without Lindsay." (Calls to the production company for confirmation were not returned.)

Major scenes for the movie will be filmed from the hotel's Glow bar, and a helicopter landing pad from the hotel's rooftop—with Lindsay currently scripted to appear in both.

Let's all just keep our fingers crossed that the production team has been able to work something out with Channing's filming schedule and he will be able to be in this film.

Lindsay Lohan Extends Stay in Rehab: Good for LiLo...Bad for Channing Tatum's 'Poor Things'

It looks like Lindsay Lohan may actually be taking her second stab (pun intended) at rehab seriously. Page Six reported today that LiLo has chosen to remain in Promises in Malibu for longer than the usual stay.

A close friend of Lohan's said, "She is staying in Promises for longer than a month. We don't know how much longer because of her work schedule, but she is taking rehab very seriously this time and not messing around."

Translation: Lindsay and her handlers want to really make sure the therapy takes this time (unlike her first stay in rehab) and they want to keep her out of trouble before she goes back to work.

By now, we all know that the "work" the friend is refering to is the movie 'Poor Things', the project that Lindsay Lohan is supposed to have with Channing Tatum.

Although LiLo has decided to stay in rehab longer to fight her demons and has canceled her 21st birthday party at PURE (thank God!), I still can't breathe a sigh of relief.

Why? Because none of this bodes well for Channing Tatum. As I mentioned in a previous post, the delay in filming (even before Lindsay decided to stay in rehab longer) was threatening Channing's ability to stay on the project. Channing currently has another movie called 'Push' that will start filming in Hong Kong in August.

I have now heard from multiple sources that Channing has had to turn down the role because of scheduling conflicts and that Giovanni Ribisi will replace him in the film. :-(

I am sure that this type of thing happens often in the movie biz, but I take this one kind of personally, because I was really looking forward to seeing Channing in a comedy. More importantly, I feel like Channing has lost out on a prime role because of LiLo's inability to pull her privileged life together and that is just not OK in my book.

I'm thinking when she gets to that step in the 12 Step Process where you have to apologize to everyone you hurt, Channing (and all of us fans) should definitely be on that list somewhere. I'll be waiting for my call, LiLo!!!

RUMOR OR REEL?: Channing Tatum May Not Be Able to Do 'Poor Things'

Chalk one up to woman's intuition, but I saw this particular train wreck coming a mile away.

As I had previously mentioned in a recent post, I was concerned about possible scheduling conflicts that the Lindsay Lohan rehab issue could cause for Channing's next role in the sci-fi movie 'Push'.

Well, I just learned that a very good source inside the 'Poor Things' camp is saying that Giovanni Ribisi may have to replace Channing in 'Poor Things' because of scheduling conflicts.

Let me just say for the record that this really sucks!! Don't get me wrong, I like Giovanni Ribisi. He's an awesome actor and I am sure that he would do a great job in the role. Channing may even be working with him soon on another upcoming film called 'The Stanford Prison Experiment'.

What really upsets me is that Lindsay Lohan's shortcomings could not only make Channing have to turn down a role, but he also loses out on the opportunity to work with veterans like Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis. Let's just say that I am adding yet another item to my list of reasons why LiLo's lack of professionalism just chaps my hide.

Until we hear an official announcement from the production team, this can still be classified as a rumor. As soon as I find out anything else, I'll let you all know. Stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped as the saga continues to unfold.

RUMOR OR REEL?: When Will Channing Tatum and Lindsay Lohan's Movie 'Poor Things' Start Filming?

As you know, Channing Tatum was supposed to start filming his new movie 'Poor Things' with Lindsay Lohan on May 30, 2007, but Lindsay's stint in rehab derailed those plans.

Well, I just got word from an actress who was recently awarded a small part in the movie that 'Poor Things' is now scheduled to start filming on or around June 23, 2007.

So hopefully we'll start seeing pictures of Channing in the set soon. I doubt that LiLo will be out of rehab at that point, but she is supposed to start on the film as soon as she leaves. Because she has already delayed the project, I kind of imagine a door to door shuttle that takes her from the Promises in Malibu front door strait to her trailer on the set.

Although LiLo seems to be determined to have her highly publicized birthday party on July 2nd, a source tells me that she may be going to her lavish New York apartment in the Atelier on West 42nd Street for a week or two after rehab to avoid the paparazzi. I guess we will have to see.

One good thing about the whole LiLo experience is that we may get to see a lot more of Channing once filming does start, since the paparazzi will always be lurking around to see if LiLo is minding her P's and Q's.

Let's just keep our fingers crossed (that LiLo minds her P's and Q's and that we get lots of pictures of Channing). :-)

A Little Note on Lindsay Lohan from the Production Team of Channing Tatum's Movie 'Poor Things'

DID YOU KNOW?...I wanted to point out something that I thought was kind of funny. As you may or may not already know, Channing Tatum's new movie 'Poor Things' was supposed to start filming this past Wednesday.

The production team updated the IMDB listing on May 30, 2007 for 'Poor Things' and the Project Notes now actually say the following very clear and undeniable statement...

"Production is on hold, due to Lindsay Lohan's stint in rehab."

Boy, they sure know how to be brutally honest and it's kind of hard for Lindsay's publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, to spin that one into a positive message.

So I guess they are not just shuffling the production schedule to accommodate Lindsay Lohan's stay in rehab, they have totally shut down production and will pick it back up in Los Angeles when LiLo completes rehab at the end of June or the beginning of July. Channing is supposed to start filming his next movie, 'Push', in Hong Kong in August, so hopefully this schedule change will not cause a problem for that film.

All I can say is Lindsay better realize and appreciate the sacrifice that everyone is making for her, even though her recent personal and professional history does not necessarily warrant it.

By the way, did you hear that LiLo is still determined to have her 21st birthday party at the popular club Pure in Las Vegas on July 2nd?

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty certain that a party centered around your ability to legally drink all of the alcohol you want is probably not the kind of environment that is ideal for a recovering addict just days hours out of rehab who has a movie to film and the entire world watching and waiting for her to relapse. Just a thought.

Having a party like that right after rehab is like taking up house in a McDonald's right after gastric bypass surgery. I'm thinking that she should start planning a little party at home minus the alcohol (and drugs) with the family (maybe not her own family, but I'm sure 'Poor Things' producer, Shirley MacLaine, may be willing to be a surrogate Mom for a while). Again, just a thought.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's Movie 'Poor Things' Will Be Lindsay Lohan's First Project After Rehab

It seems that Lindsay Lohan IS going to be Channing Tatum's co-star in their new movie Poor Things. As a matter of a fact, it will be her first project right after she is allowed to leave Promises in Malibu, which is conveniently right down the street from where the movie will be filming in Los Angeles, California.

People.com says the producers of Poor Things told them on Wednesday that they plan to keep Lindsay Lohan on the cast and are going to juggle the shooting schedule to accommodate her stay in rehab.

The producers, which includes acting veteran Shirley MacLaine, released a statement saying they are going comply with Lindsay's wishes to continue working on Channing's new dark comedy Poor Things. They are currently trying to rearrange the shooting schedule to facilitate her working at the end of the shoot to coincide with the completion of her rehabilitation.

I believe in good karma and I hope this movie gets a lot of it for continuing to support LiLo in an extremely tough time. It would have made business sense to cut her loose, but they chose to be forgiving instead.

Let's just hope that Lindsay does whatever she has to do to recover, exits rehab a much healthier person, and does all she can to redeem herself for her sake and for the sake of everyone on the Poor Things cast and crew.

RUMOR OR REEL?: Lindsay Lohan's Legal Woes Delay Filming for Channing Tatum's New Movie 'Poor Things'

Unless you have been living under a rock the past few days, I am sure you have heard of the alleged under-aged alcohol/drug induced car wreck, hospitalization, and subsequent run in with the law that Channing Tatum's future costar and current rehab resident Lindsay Lohan (aka LiLo) had this past holiday weekend.

You may be saying to your self, if Lindsay is in rehab (a place, in my opinion, she desperately needs to be), how in the world is she going to start filming 'Poor Things' tomorrow?

Well, the film's production company has answered that question...sort of. They are now saying that filming is going to start on Thursday instead and will film on location in Los Angeles, California for 3 weeks.

Now, Lindsay Lohan supposedly has checked herself into the Promises clinic in Malibu (the same one that Britney Spears just recently check out of) and normally residents are not allowed to leave the program for the first 30 days.

So unless the production company is going to pull a Desperate Housewives and make the rehab facility look like the movie set so they can continue filming while Lindsay gets her much-needed therapy, I am not quite sure how they are going to start filming her parts on time. Not to mention the fact that they may have trouble getting Lindsay insured on the set, because she has become such a liability.

Either they are going to have to perform some kind of movie magic or they may have to see if Sienna Miller can bail Lindsay out of this filming conflict too (like she had to recently do on Keira Knightley's newest movie).

Only time will tell, so stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped for all of the drama that comes along with anything that has LiLo's name tied to it.

UPDATE: TMZ.com is saying that the film's production company is now denying the fact that LiLo even had a deal with them to act in 'Poor Things'. They are saying that casting is not set and that they are not scheduled to start filming for a couple of weeks. OUCH!! That is a really harsh thing to say when all of the major and many minor trade publications have already reported that she had the part. Can't make Lindsay feel very good. She really needs to get her ducks in a row (translation: get off the drugs and alcohol) if she wants to continue to have a career. There are now rumors that the part may be given to Sophia Bush, who as a very young person handled her whole divorce from Chad Michael Murray better than practically any adult I have ever met. She's cool in my book.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum to Star in 'Poor Things' with Lindsay Lohan & Rosario Dawson

Looks like we got our wish...we are going to see a ton of Channing Tatum on the big screen in the coming years.

He has inked yet another deal and this time he will be starring with tabloid target Lindsay Lohan (recently seen in 'Georgia Rule' and a poorly lit club bathroom :-D) and the adorable Rosario Dawson (recently seen in 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints').

All three of them will be starring in the grandma gang comedy 'Poor Things,' which also stars acting legends Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis.

Ash Baron Cohen, cousin of Sacha Baron Cohen (aka Borat), will be directing the film that is scheduled to start shooting this Wednesday in Los Angeles (heads up to Channing fans in LA).

Trent Haaga's script was inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for various "grandma gang" exploits, which have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder. It seems that the con artists pick up two guys, take out insurance policies on them, then run them down with their cars. The two women are currently on trial as we speak.

Not sure what part Channing is playing, but the movie definitely sounds interesting. In case you are keeping count...Channing has two movies coming out this year (Stop-Loss, Battle in Seattle), three movies in 2008 (Poor Things, Push, The Stanford Prison Experiment), and two movies planned for 2009 (Parkour, Dear John). This kids dance card is full! Yeaaaaa!! :-D

Huge congrats to Channing!!!
