Favorite Channing Tatum Picture and Why?:
This is where the torture begins, decisions decisions. ARGH!!!! ..... OK, I am going with the picture I use for my MSN, YM and CBox profile. Why do I like this one, well I love all his pictures but I went with this one because you can see that Chan is a joker, something which is a must in my opinion. If you don't have a sense of humor, life would be pretty dull. You can sense that Chan is a fun person to be around with, someone you would want to keep close to you.
Another reason why I like this picture so much is because his eyes
really stand out. They're just so green and luscious. It's like you can see into his soul, if you know what I mean, if not oh well, can't explain it. And finally I loved this picture because Chan took it himself, which just goes to show what kind of person he is, taking the time to take this picture, he is just amazing. Wow, 1 decision made, more to make, on I go.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:
AHHHH!!!!, my favourite Chan movie, you have no idea how hard I am finding this, but I must go on. Ok, I am going to cheat on this one, because I can't possibly choose just one movie. All of them are just too good in there own way. I love Havoc because Chan was just basically standing and breathing, couldn't be bothered to watch the whole movie, just replayed his part, the rest didn't matter. This is the one movie I haven't let my cousins or my little brother watch, and they never will!! Sadly, still haven't watched Supercross, but I'm sure it's great, after all Chan is in it. OMG, She's The Man was so funny, didn't stop laughing I found it that hilarious. This is the movie I watch when I need a good laugh, never get tired of it, Chan, Amanda, Robert Hoffman & co great combination. This is also the first movie I saw Chan in. Coach Carter, what can I say, Chan's character Lyle tried to be the tough guy, but you can see that deep inside he was a softy. Even with a big cast, Chan still stood out, I loved how his character stood up for Timo, even though they didn't get along. Step Up, I love dance movies, I admire the time and effort people put into making these sorts of films. This was also Chan's first lead role, so got to see him a lot more, extra bonus. The chemistry between Jenna and himself was electrifying, you could really see they hit it off. Loved all the dance scenes, just amazing. Then we have A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, one word WOW! Chan was just explosive in this. He really showed his acting abilities in this one. This is a must see definitely for all Chan's, it's such a powerful movie. And then we come to The Trap, after months of waiting and waiting, we finally got to see Chan, TOPLESS THROUGHOUT, PHWOAR!!! I know he was only in it for a few minutes, but it was a very good few minutes, well worth the wait. Wait no, waiting for movies is torture!!!! Next one in February 2008, GRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Favorite Channing Tatum Scene and Why?:
Just so you know, decided to cheat here to, you can't make me choose, well made me choose once, but that's it.

She's The Man – Got to be the gym scene that was just so hilarious. Him flicking open his mobile and then banging his head, trying to act cool...classic. Then he does that little dance, so cute, LOL. The spider scene came a close second, watching Chan scream, LMAO.

Coach Carter – Going with the locker room scene, where he's wearing nothing apart from a towel, enough said!!

Step Up – This one is difficult, let me think.... the scene straight after the dance club scene with Jenna, you saw the sensitive side to his character Tyler, him kind of letting his guard down, and just giving in.

A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints – Another difficult one, mmm.... a can't pick just one scene, the whole movie as a whole is awesome, so dramatic.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie Quote and Why?:
I am going to choose a quote from all his movies, well going to try anyway.

She's The Man – 'Be not afraid of greatness, some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them', this is such a powerful quote, had this as my MSN signature for a long time. No matter who you are or what you are, everyone is great in their own way.

Coach Carter – 'When one person struggles, we all struggle, when one person triumphs, we all triumph', the turning point in the movie, it's when the whole team really became one, when one of their own needed help, they were all their to take the slack.

Step Up –'There are a lot of things that I want now, that I didn't use to, I even catch myself every once in a while actually thinking I can have them' , he proclaims his love for Nora, finally!

A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints – Yeah, don't think I can really put any quotes for this one, it would probably go something like this, 'Bleep bleep bleep', LOL.

Favorite Upcoming Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:
Hey, how come I get an extra question to answer, you must really love to torture me. Favourite upcoming movies, I think you guys can guess what I am going to say, ALL OF THEM!!! Step Up 2 The Streets, I know it's only a cameo, but it's a great cameo, that dance scene is out of this world, and I can't wait to see the full dance. Got to give Chan his dues, he done good. I think he brought a little something to the film. Battle In Seattle, love a man in a uniform, and guess what, Chan is in a uniform, way cool. And that's not the only movie where he's in a uniform, there's also Stop Loss, cant wait for this one, Chan crying, poor baby, I know a lot of people who would've loved to just give him a hug. And finally we come to Fighting, even though I think they're still filming, can sense this is going to be another great movie. Although watching Chan get hurt, yeah not looking forward to that part at all, but oh well.

Have you ever met Channing?:
If you're asking about physically meeting Chan, then sadly no. But he's always in my dreams, which for know will have to do until I ever meet him, not that I think I will. Although a lot of people seem to think I will, maybe they know something I don't, if so, spill people because it's not nice keeping secrets, especially if it involves me!

Why are you a Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan?:
Why am I fabulous CT fan, mmm...... well, don't know if I'm a fabulous fan, I'm just a regular fan, nothing special. On to why I am a Channing Tatum fan, maybe I should start from the beginning and how I fell in love with him. You guys should probably get comfortable, might be a long one, LOL.

It all started last year in April when I bought She's The Man, I found it really hilarious, Duke WOW HOT (at this moment in time, sadly I didn't know who Channing was, just the person on screen). He was just amazing and the way he played football (football = soccer, and for those who don't know me I'm a really into football so it made me fall in love with him immediately). I then came across him in Coach Carter, still didn't know who he really was, just knew he was sexy as hell. I kept watching the two movies again and again, and my love for Chan grew so much it felt like I was going to explode. Then came the movie that was to change all this, the movie that really blew my mind, Step Up. His first lead major role, he was just breath taking, everything about him just made me melt. Watching him play Tyler, made me believe that anything is possible if you just believe in yourself. Step Up gave me the desire to look Chan up (which was so much more easier at this point, as I now had broadband whereas before had dial up). I searched high and low, anything about him, found some interesting things, which later turned out to be false!!

I then came across this marvellous site. It was March 07. Read all the posts, went through all the pictures, kept going back up to 20 times a day, I just couldn't get enough of it. It was just what I was looking for. What is this site which I'm talking about, well it is CTU of course, DUH! At this moment didn't have the courage to come on the chat box and talk to complete strangers, but seeing that I knew no one who liked him, not even my friends ( which should be illegal, but anyway), signed on the CBox in late July, and have never really left since. I am totally hooked on here, I'm on 24/7 practically (as most of you all have noticed). I now kind of live, breath and eat Chan (not literally, but you know what I mean). I've made a great group of friends, everyone here are like a family, we're here for one another, for the good and the bad. We back each other up and we listen to each other, we may fight (for the most part, it's all pretend) but that's what family do. And this is all down to Chan, because without him, we would never have met each other, and Q would never had made this awesome blog that none of us can live without (Thanks Q, you rock!!).

I feel like I've gotten to know the real Chan, through reading all the posts and encounters. He has such commitment and strength, something we all should strive for. I admire him so much, he's not like other actors/ actresses out there, he's not out there like some people are. He cares for his fans and you can see he is so family driven, the way he is with Jenna and his family, is kind of rare these days. He has this feel good factor, that just makes you want to follow his every foots step. He is the only actor I've ever actually gone to the trouble of finding out all that I can. I wish all the best for the future and here's to hoping a long successful career. I don't know whether I mentioned this, but I LOVE CHANNING MATTHEW TATUM, HE'S DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!

I am also very proud to say that I am a member of the 'Crazy, Weird, Freaky Chanaholic Chatterbox Society Club' with a severe case of CHANMANIA, along with all my fellow Chantastic Chanaholics, and I love all you guys and I am so glad to be a part of this community.

I did warn you guys this would be long, but I hope it's been a good read. Would just like to say that this has been very difficult for me, 1 making me choose, which I hate, and 2 having to write in regular English, which no longer comes easily for me. Sorry to anyone who prefers my other style, but I had to, for the good of the Chan Fam.

Why does Channing Tatum Unwrapped think that this fan belongs in the Fab Fan Spotlight?
First of all, I have never laughed so much while creating a Fab Fan post. Naz is one of the funniest people I have had the pleasure of knowing, and she has become such an irreplaceable part of the CTU community. The reason why I chose her this month goes beyond her great sense of humor and the fact that she has written the longest Fab Fan Spotlight in CTU history. ;-) I often have found Naz on the chat box greeting new fans, helping them learn the ropes of the site, answering Channing questions from the things she has learned on the site and elsewhere, and encouraging fans to get involved in the community via the forum. She even recently volunteered to create Channing's Christmas video and is already working hard on the project. It's readers like Naz that really make the CTU community feel like a second family for so many fans (me included). I would truly like to thank Naz for everything that she does, because it does not go unnoticed.

Thanks Naz for letting me profile you and for taking the time to share all of your info with the other readers!

As the subject of the Fab Fan Spotlight, Naz is able to pick a custom-made poster of Channing Tatum courtesy of Channing Tatum Unwrapped! Naz's Fab Fan Spotlight prize will be sent to her.

Finally, Naz's Fab Fan Spotlight profile will be added on the right side of the blog so other Channing Fans can learn about her from any page on the site. Feel free to send your congrats to Naz in the comments on this entry!

Do you want to be in the Fab Fan Spotlight? I will choose and interview readers who have contributed to the Channing Tatum Unwrapped and the Channing Tatum fan community by submitting Pictures of the Week, Videos of the Week, Comments, Graphics, etc. and/or by having groups, profiles, or sites that they made for Channing and his fans. I am currently choosing the next Fab Fan Spotlighter, so be on the lookout for an email from me requesting an interview and the next FFS might just be you!

NEWS FLASH: Writer's Strike Causes Channing Tatum's 'Pinkville' to be Postponed

United Artists, the production company funding Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, and Woody Harrelson's Oliver Stone directed movie 'Pinkville' , announced via a press release last night that the film was being postponed due to the current Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. Making the movie the second major film casualty of the ongoing writers strike after Sony's 'Angels & Demons', the sequel to Tom Hanks movie 'Da Vinci Code'.

In case you don't know anything about the writer's strike that is currently affecting most of the US entertainment industry, here's a quick explanation of what's going on...

The writers are striking to resolve two major issues. They want to increase the amount of compensation they get from each DVD sale that includes their work and they are trying to negotiate what kind of payment (if any) they should get from the newer distribution channels like the internet, podcasting and mobile-phones.

How does the writer's strike affect you? The late-night talk shows are already in reruns and popular shows like “The Office”, "24", “Desperate Housewives”, “Ugly Betty”, "Heroes", “House” and “Grey's Anatomy” have closed shop or are about to close up shop, because they have no more scripts to film.

People like me who are addicted to these shows will have to get used to seeing reruns and we'll start seeing more unscripted reality and game shows to fill the void. More importantly, people who work on the shows are getting laid off in many cases when the shows shut down for too long.

You can read the press release below to see how the writer's strike is now affecting Channing's upcoming film 'Pinkville' ...

UA Postpones Production of Stone's 'Pinkville'
Friday November 16, 11:00 pm ET

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- United Artists announced today that as a result of the writers' strike, it is postponing production of the Oliver Stone project "Pinkville" starring Bruce Willis. The studio said that because of the ongoing labor action by the Writers Guild of America, neither Stone nor screenwriter Mikko Alanne, both of whom are members of the WGA, can work on the script revisions needed to get the film ready for production. Mr. Stone, Mr. Allane, and Mr. Willis are all completely supportive of this decision.

Because I find the entertainment industry interesting as a whole, I've been following the writer's strike since it started a couple of weeks ago. None of our favorite scripted shows and movies would ever exist without the writers, so I personally hope that the strike is resolved soon and that the writers receive fair compensation for their work.

Far beyond the loss of our favorite shows and the delay in seeing our favorite movie stars on the big screen, is the plight of the production crew members (i.e. hair and make up artists, wardrobe people, camera technicians, caterers, etc.) that have become the direct casualties of the work stoppage caused by the shows and films that are shutting down.

My heart goes out to the hundreds of unnamed, behind-the-scenes production people (who don't get paid nearly as much as the writers) that are being laid off. Sadly, they will also have difficulty finding other work, because much of the industry around them is shut down. For many of them, getting this strike resolved means the difference between being able to take care of their families and losing everything they have. So again, resolving the strike quickly is of utmost importance. Rumor has it that the writers and the studios are heading back to the bargaining table on November 26, so hope may not be lost yet.

OK I'll get off my soap box now...

So what might this mean for Channing Tatum? Hopefully it means he gets to spend some quality time with friends and family during the upcoming holiday season, since he is wrapping up his current film 'Fighting' in New York and now does not have to head directly to Thailand to film 'Pinkville'. The one thing we know for sure is that Chan has plenty of upcoming projects to occupy his time, and I hope there are no scheduling conflicts for him and 'Pinkville' when the writer's strike is eventually resolved.

Honestly, Chan could probably use a healthy break at this point, because 2008 is shaping up to be the busiest year of his entire career. We can all look forward to as many as 4 movie releases and what seems like an endless list of movies he is supposed to film.

Luckily for us fans the writers strike should not effect Chan's movies that are already in the can, as they say, for 2008. So be on the lookout for his cameo in 'Step Up 2: The Streets' (February 14, 2008), his major roles in 'Battle in Seattle' (March 2008) and 'Stop-Loss' (March 28, 2008), and 'Fighting' is scheduled to also release some time in 2008. Strike or not, it's business as usual for the extremely busy Mr.Tatum.

NEWS FLASH: 'Step Up' Co-Stars Jenna Dewan and Josh Henderson Reunite on Screen for 'The Jerk Theory' and You Can Be in the Movie!!!

'Step Up' fans should be really excited to hear that former co-stars Jenna Dewan (Channing Tatum's real-life girlfriend) and Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives) will reunite on-screen for their new movie 'The Jerk Theory'. It's being billed as a fun teen film (with lots of great music!) starring Josh Henderson, Jenna Dewan, and Tom Arnold.

The PolarStar Entertainment film was written by Abraham Taylor, and directed by Scott S. Anderson.

The comedy is about an aspiring recording artist named Adam (Josh Henderson), who is burned by a bad relationship experience and decides that if women won't respond to the "nice guy" then he'll be "the jerk." He is extremely successful with meaningless relationships, but when Adam meets and falls for Molly, who I'm pretty sure is played by Jenna Dewan and who doesn't fall for his jerk routine, Adam is forced to reconsider his dating philosophy.

'The Jerk Theory' is currently filming in Salt Lake City, and they need 100 people for extras on Friday November 16th and Saturday November 17th.

For this shoot, the production is looking for people of all sizes and ethnicities. Extras should be ages 13 - 25 or 30 (if you look young). All extras involved with the film will be fed and snacks will also be provided.

There is no pay for the extras used in this shoot, but if you are wanting to get involved in the movie industry, this may be a good opportunity for you, since you will get the chance to see how a major motion picture is made.

Please send an email to treesmom@gmail.com or call Robin at (435) 720-0509 if you are interested in being an extra in the film.

Stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped where, much like Chan, I always try to keep you posted on all of Jenna Dewan's new projects too.

Because I want to make sure that as many people as possible have a good experience on this site, I need your help. Please answer the poll below and let me know if you would like the music to automatically play the song as you open the site or if you would rather just press the play button yourself to hear the song of the day. Thanks in advance for your help!

FREE SCREENING ADVICE
Here's some valuable advice about attending screenings from Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan and screening veteran Josy of New York:

I've been Over 50 screenings here in NYC thru the years. Just wanna spread a little knowledge. 99% of screenings are first come first serve. They overbook to ensure capacitity so make sure you let people know, the earlier they get there the better. If it's a 7 o'clock screening, 4:30 is usually the best time to get there to ensure you get the seat of your choice and your definitely get into the screening. Local press is usually present as well so that cuts about 50 seats out on reserve for them. My friend who attends them in North Carolina always says they are packed usually as well, so it's not just an NYC thing.

Thanks again Josy for all of the great advice!!!

Don't live in Columbus or Madison? Stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped, because I will post any other public screenings of Channing Tatum's movies on the blog that I learn about whenever I find them.

NEWS FLASH: Rapper Xzibit Joins Channing Tatum in Oliver Stone's 'Pinkville'

HollywoodReporter.com is saying that rapper-turned-actor and MTV's "Pimp My Ride" star Xzibit (aka Alvin Nathaniel Joiner) is going to join Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Woody Harrelson, and Michael Peña in Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone's upcoming Vietnam war drama 'Pinkville'.

As we recently learned from Channing and in a casting call for the film, 'Pinkville' is going to start filming in Thailand in the next few weeks.

The true-life war drama written by Mikko Alanne focuses on the 1968 My Lai Massacre, in which more than 500 people -- mostly women, children and the elderly -- were killed by U.S. soldiers.

Xzibit will play a soldier who is convinced he carried out his orders in a moral way and in case you don't know, Channing is playing Hugh Thompson, the heroic helicopter pilot that put a stop to the massacre.

Channing and Xzibit are both managed by the Beverly Hills-based team at Management 360 and 'Pinkville' is set to have it's theatrical release in 2008.

Cinematical.com is saying that Oliver Stone is also eying Michael Pitt to play Lt. William Calley, the Army officer who was found guilty of ordering the 1968 My Lai Massacre. Also joining the film is Toby Jones, who will portray Lt. Andre Feher, the chief warrant officer who tries to convince Willis' character, Gen. William Peers, that the U.S. Army is responsible for the massacre.

With the star and director power behind this film, it will definitely be one to watch and is a huge leap forward for Chan, an extremely talented actor who is quickly on the road to being a household name.

Channing Tatum Pictures of the Week: Fabulous Fan Drawing Submission

Each week Channing Tatum Unwrapped will post one or more of our favorite pictures of the uber hot Channing Tatum.

Today's Pictures of the Week were submitted by Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Sabrina from Germany. I was stunned when Sabrina sent her drawings to me, because they are so life-like. She's only 15 years old, but in my opinion, has the artistic talent of someone well beyond her years. The fab fan has been painting since she was 12 and says the talent is in her genes. For the budding artists that are interested, the drawings below were first created in pencil and then she overlayed that with charcoal.

Here are Sabrina's works of art with the original photos that she used to create them:

Here is the reason why Sabrina is a Channing Tatum fan and chose to draw her Pictures of the Week:

I am a Channing Tatum fan because I have never seen such a beautiful guy, and he has a charisma like no actor.

NEWS FLASH: Casting Call for Channing Tatum's 'Pinkville' Today in New York and Next Week in Memphis

Sorry for the late notice, but I just found this casting call a few minutes ago....

Channing Tatum's next movie 'Pinkville' (which is directed by Oliver Stone and also stars Woody Harrelson and Bruce Willis) is holding a casting call today (as I type this post) in New York City, NY, and they will be holding a second casting call on November 17, 2007 (next Saturday) in Memphis, Tennessee.

Here's what I know...

The movie will be shooting on location in THAILAND starting on December 1, 2007 for six (6) weeks. Casting agency Winsome Sinclair & Associates says that up to 50 "soldiers" from New York and Memphis will be selected for "featured extra" roles. Featured extras receive more screen time than extras. What's more, "Oliver Stone is known for giving people he likes a line, even if it's not in the script," Sinclair said.

They are specifically seeking Caucasian, African American & Latino males between the ages of 20-35 to play soldiers. Production will cover travel, room & board and per diem, and pay.

NEW YORK CASTING - Today November 10, 2007 (1PM - 6PM)

For the New York casting, Winsome Sinclair & Associates will be casting FEATURED extra roles for the new feature length film ''Pinkville''. There will be an open call for talent held on Saturday November 10, 2007 at Club Stereo 512 West 29th St. between 10th & 11th Aves. from 1pm to 6pm.

Those interested in being a part of this film should attend and bring a recent headshot/snapshot and a pencil. If you are interested but unable to attend, please email photos ASAP to: Pinkville_NyExtrasCasting@yahoo.com

MEMPHIS CASTING - Saturday November 17, 2007 (1PM - 6PM)
For the Memphis casting, Men ages 20-50 who think they could portray a soldier in Stone's ''Pinkville'' are invited to a casting call at FedExForum from 1 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 17.

The office of U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, will also work to expedite passport processing for anyone cast in the film who doesn't have one.

Good luck!!!

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's 'Stop-Loss' Gets Screened in New York and Releases Videos from Real Soldiers and Their Wives

Last night the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences held a private screening of Channing Tatum and Ryan Phillippe's highly- anticipated war drama 'Stop-Loss' for people in the film and television industry at the AMC theater at 11th street and 3rd avenue in New York City.

This type of screening is not open to the public, but thanks to Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Lisa and blogger Emma of Guilt Free Pleasure, CTU readers can learn more about the movie and Channing's exceptional performance as Steve Shriver through Lisa and Emma's recaps of the event.

We are able to learn why award-winning director and writer Kimberly Peirce decided to make the movie. We also learn how her Iraq war veteran brother, Channing's really good friend, and writer Brett (through his role as military and script consultant on the movie) played an integral part in helping her make the film as realistic as possible.

Here is what Lisa had to say about the screening:

I just wanted to shoot you an email about Stop-Loss. I was able to attend a screening last night in NYC and it was AMAZING. I am a big fan of history/war-related subjects and the way Kimberly Pierce wrote/shot/directed this movie was intense, real and touching. All of the actors in the movie did an amazing job and I really thought Steve Shriver was another great role for Channing to show us all his acting chops! I have soldiers in my family and I have friends in the military and the way Channing embodied his part was not only impressive but extremely relevant and realistic. He shined!! And he was the 2nd lead in the movie behind Ryan Phillippe which basically meant a lot of screen time.

Another great thing about the screening was that Kimberly Pierce and Joseph Gordon Levitt were there for a Q&A afterwards. Joe had mentioned how one of the most important parts of the movie for him was to really bond with his fellow actors to portray this band of brothers correctly. He said how all of the actors who played soldiers/brothers really became great friends and to this day still keep in touch and hang out (which he also mentioned was rare in Hollywood).

The story is EXTREMELY important to get out to the public. Stop-Loss is basically a way for the government to pull back soldiers into the war after their signed contract is up. It was a brave subject matter to breach and I gained a whole new level of respect for Kimberly Pierce and everyone involved in the project!

Just wanted to share! Thanks again for everything you do with this site Q!
Lisa
Here is what Emma had to say about the screening:
"...I would say the best performance was actually Channing Tatum as Phillipe's best friend. Tatum once again unleashes a powerful performance. He was great in "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" as a tough kid from the wrong side of the tracks who is desperately in need of guidance and who makes mistakes but is really a good guy at heart. This role is similar. He's definitely still a tough guy (I mean, with his macho, chiseled features, I don't know if it's possible to cast him as anything else) who needs guidance and makes mistakes. He is also a good guy at heart, trying to hold together his group of friends - who are really like his family when it comes down to it - as it falls apart. I would say one of the most powerful scenes of the movie for me was when, after lots of building tension that leads to a physical fight between Tatum and Phillippe, Tatum rather suddenly bursts into tears. Seeing that big, macho guy break down and sob was like being punched in the gut, especially when 30 seconds before he had been furiously wrestling with Ryan Phillippe.

One interesting thing about the film was how parts of it were shot from the soldiers' POV (as if they were shooting it on home video cameras or even just digital cameras). It's interesting how technology has changed so much that now the soldiers can kind of document the wars for themselves (this is particularly interesting to me because I am currently working on a documentary project about war photographers). It was also interesting because the reason the filmmaker, Kimberly Pierce, chose to do this was inspired by her brother, who was a soldier in Iraq and was showing her his pictures/video from Iraq. Pierce talked about how when her brother was in Iraq she talked to him on IM almost every day too.

Part of what made this movie so disturbing for me personally was that her brother played an integral role in helping her make this film. She wanted to represent soldiers accurately and at first he wouldn't help her because he was essentially like "no one understands unless they go through it." So she was going to go through it. She was going to go to Iraq and spend time with soldiers there. That's when her brother decided to help her make the film - because he didn't want her to go to Iraq because it's not safe. And it doesn't matter how much security you have with you, no one is safe anywhere. So he worked with her on the film and she interviewed a lot of soldiers that she met through him. And the fact that this film was made with the help of soldiers makes it disturbing to me because that means that this very bleak film is an accurate depiction of at least some soldiers' experience with Iraq and it's not just what some outsider wants to think soldiers go through.

It's not a film that was made to demonize the war by someone who has no connection to it - and I wouldn't even necessarily say it demonizes the war, but it certainly paints a grim picture. It's a film that was made in collaboration with people who have fought in the war, and who signed up to fight in the war and to "defend their country," and some of whom probably still support the war even after everything they've gone through. I realize I can't say that therefore the movie applies to all soldiers. A lot of soldiers who see the movie might not have the same perspective because the experience is probably different to everyone who goes through it. But it sounds like the director spoke to a number of soldiers, so at the very least, her depiction represents some soldiers and is trying to be accurate instead of just an angry liberal anti-war movie..."
I would like to give a huge thanks to Lisa and Emma for sharing their experiences at the screening with all of us.

I also learned today that 'Stop-Loss' has released a new section of their website that again demonstrates the film's goal of realism. Their new Sound Off page is a place where you can check out numerous videos made by real soldiers and their wives for the movie.

A soldier by the name of Keith is actually another close friend of Chan's, and you can CLICK HERE to view his video or watch it below by clicking on the play button:

Don't stop with Keith's video. There's so much more where that came from. CLICK HERE to check out even more of these moving videos from our soldiers and their wives and leave your comments. There are many more to come - these are just the first - but they want you to use the comment feature to let them know what you think.

In the very near future, the DIRECTOR and ACTORS of 'Stop-Loss' will make their comments on the videos, and participate in live chats with soldiers, military wives and the public.

Most importantly, whether you believe in this war or not, please show your support for the troops that risk their lives every day for each and every one of us and their families that are desperately hoping they come home safely!

And don't forget to watch 'Stop-Loss' when it hits US theaters March 28, 2008 and UK theaters April 18, 2008. You can CLICK HERE to view the powerful new trailer.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum to Star in and Executive Produce the First Hollywood Movie to Ever Film in South Korea

In a recent 'RUMOR or REEL?' post on the blog, I mentioned there were rumors floating around saying that Channing Tatum may have lined up a new role.

Entertainment Weekly had reported that a pitch from screenwriter Doug Jung (Confidence) was being shopped all around Hollywood. EW portrayed the role as a "fish-out-of-water" story where Chan would play an American cop in South Korea, and we also learned that no other Hollywood studio has ever filmed in the country.

I am extremely excited to report that Fox Atomic (a division of Fox Searchlight that produces and acquires genre films for teen and young adult audiences) has picked up the film and Channing is not only starring in it, he's also going to be one of the film's executive producers along with two of his managers (Peter Kiernan and William Choi from Management 360).

You can read the Variety article in its entirety below:

Fox Atomic Will Go to Korea
Group becomes first to produce film in country
By PATRICK FRATER

Fox Atomic will become the first Hollywood group to produce a studio movie in South Korea when it goes ahead with an untitled pic starring Channing Tatum.

Project was bought as a pitch by the Debbie Liebling-headed division from scripter Doug Jung ("Confidence") before the WGA strike. Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment are attached to produce.

The police thriller set in Seoul sets Tatum as a American cop who teams up with a big-time criminal in order to enter the Korean underworld.

Zak Kadison will oversee the project for Fox Atomic. Tatum, Peter Kiernan and William Choi of Management 360 are attached as executive producers. Helmer and a Korean producing partner have yet to be attached.

Pic is not the first sign of Fox interest in Korea, a market where, even after a recent dip, local films dominate the B.O. In April, it was revealed that Paul Hanneman, co-president of Fox Intl., and Kim Woo-taek, CEO of major Korean distrib Showbox, had struck a preliminary agreement that could see the studio co-financing and co-producing Korean pictures. At roughly the same time, Fox exec Mike Heard scouted locations in Seoul and Busan.

Fox Atomic was launched last year as a division of Fox Searchlight to produce and acquire genre films for teen and young adult audiences.

Here's a huge ***HIGH FIVE*** to Chan for adding the coveted title of Executive Producer to his belt so soon in the game and congrats for also adding to his already amazingly long list of upcoming projects. As always, the fans are happy to know we'll have even more opportunities to see Chan on the big screen.

New Picture of Channing Tatum with a Fan on the Set of 'Step Up 2: The Streets'

Thanks to Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Lindsey from Maryland, we have a new photo of Channing Tatum taking pictures with her on the set of his highly-anticipated sequel 'Step Up 2: The Streets'

This picture was taken when he filmed his cameo for the movie that stars Robert Hoffman, Briana Evigan, and Cassie in Baltimore this past September.

Here's what Lindsey had to say about her lucky fan encounter with Chan:

Hi,

The picture was taken when he filmed Step Up 2. My best friend's dad works on movies and he worked on both Step Up and Step Up 2. Her dad knew I was a huge fan so he asked my best friend and myself if we wanted to come on set and watch them filming and then we could meet the cast.

I was soooo excited of course and we waited about 4 hours to meet Channing. When we met him he was soo nice. We felt bad asking him to take a picture with us cuz he just got done filming and he had a plate of food and a case of water with him but he just smiled and was like of course I will. A lot of what happened was a blur because we were so excited to meet him but I do remember that his back was all sweaty and when I was posing with him for the picture he laughed and said that he's sorry that he's all sweaty and that they were just wrestling inside, its not like we minded at all so we just smiled. But Channing was very gracious the whole time smiling and meeting his fans, he seems like a very nice, genuine person.

-Lindsey

Thanks for sharing the great picture and story with everyone, Lindsey! A sweaty Chan is definitely better than no Chan at all. I'm sure any fan in your shoes would have felt the same way too. ;-D

In case you all missed it, I have added 2 new songs from the 'Step Up 2: The Streets' soundtrack to the blog's MP3 player. Thanks to Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Louis, you can now listen to T-Pain's "Church" and Cupid's "369" below:

Plus, I also added an exclusive new track from recording artist Rialle called "Your Here". It's not from the SU2 soundtrack, but it's an awesome song that you will only find right here on CTU. Click here to go to the CTU MP3 player and listen to her latest song or you will find a player with all of the songs on the left side of each page of the blog. Enjoy!!!

If you have been lucky enough to take pictures with Channing, feel free to send them to sightings@channingtatumunwrapped.com along with your fan encounter story so I can share them with Channing's many fans around the world.

NEWS FLASH: New Movie Release for Channing Tatum's Girlfriend Jenna Dewan

Here's a gorgeous photo of Channing Tatum's real-life girlfriend Jenna Dewan at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards. Chan was not able to attend this particular event with Jenna, because I believe he was in the middle of filming his movie 'Stop-Loss'. Even in his absence, Chan still managed to win the Choice Breakout (Male) award for his role in 'She's the Man'.

Since so many Channing Tatum fans (including me) are also fans of his girlfriend, Jenna Dewan, I like to post news about her too whenever I run across it.

Today I learned that Jenna's next movie, 'Love Lies Bleeding', will be released on DVD very soon. You can read the article below to get all of the release details.

Explosive Thriller 'Love Lies Bleeding' Comes to DVD in January
By M&C News Nov 5, 2007, 13:28 GMT

From Sony Pictures Home Entertainment comes the gritty and suspenseful Love Lies Bleeding on January 15th for the suggested retail price of $24.96.

This suspense thriller stars Christian Slater (Bobby, Hollow Man II), Jenna Dewan (The Grudge 2, Step Up) and Brian Geraghty (I Know Who Killed Me, When A Stranger Calls) in a film that follows a corrupt government force out to reclaim a bundle of stolen money from a young couple who are on the run.

Synopsis:

After a shootout in their apartment building, a young couple stumbles upon a cache of dirty money. Grabbing the cash, the two flee in search of a better life. Unbeknownst to them, their newfound wealth is the property of a crooked DEA agent (Slater), who will stop at nothing to reclaim what is his. What ensues is a story of corruption chasing the corrupt. An investigative detective gets caught up in the chase and begins to suspect foul play. His mission: to discover the truth before it is too late.

Special Features:
  • 16 Deleted Scenes and Alternate Scenes
  • Alternate Ending

That's not the only film Jenna has in the works. Just like Chan, she has been really busy with her projects....

Jenna just wrapped filming the romantic thriller 'My Life' (aka 'Out of the Bronx' or 'Wonderfall') where she stars opposite Andrew Cisneros. This New York-based film is currently in post-production.

Chan also told me that she is also currently filming 'The Six Wives of Henry Lefay' with Tim Allen and Jenna Elfman in Connecticut. The comedy is about a grieving daughter that tries to arrange her father's funeral, while putting up with all of his ex-wives.

Both 'My Life' and 'The Six Wives of Henry Lefay' are set to release some time in 2008, but make sure to buy or rent Jenna's next movie, 'Love Lies Bleeding', when it hits the stores January 15, 2008!
