FAN ENCOUNTER: Channing Tatum on the Harleyville, South Carolina Set of 'Dear John'
As I previously posted, the 'Dear John' crew was seen shooting at the Lafarge cement and sand plants with tons of military trucks in Harleyville, South Carolina on Monday, December 15, 2008.
Today's Fab Fan Encounter is a great, new photo from that set that was submitted by Stephen C. of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, who was an extra on Channing Tatum's highly-anticipated romantic drama 'Dear John' last month.
Here's what Stephen had to say about this lucky fan encounter with Chan on the set of 'Dear John'...
"Hey, I met Channing on set and he was the greatest to work with. Real down to earth and a consummate professional. The picture was taken December 15th 2008 on location of the 'Dear John' movie in Harleyville, SC outside Charleston, SC one of the last days of shooting."
Filming wrapped a couple of days after the photo above was taken, and fans can click here to get all of the latest photos and news from the set of this movie.
Finally, There's a bit of a rumor going around about the release of the film. Originally, the movie was going to be released in September or October of this year. I'm now hearing that Screen Gems may push the premiere to early 2010 instead, because of the large amount of movies that both Channing Tatum and his co-star Amanda Seyfried are scheduled to release this year.
Prior to 'Dear John' hitting theaters, Chan will have a theatrical release for 'Fighting' on April 24th, 'Public Enemies' on July 1st, and 'G.I. Joe:Rise of Cobra' on August 7th. Amanda has the comedies 'Jennifer's Body' with Megan Fox and Adam Brody and 'Boogie Woogie' with Heather Graham and Gillian Anderson. Because both of their release schedules are so full for 2009, we may have to wait a little longer to see 'Dear John'. As always, I'll keep you all posted on the final release date of the film.
Big thanks to Stephen for sending in the great photo! If you happen to run into Channing Tatum or Jenna Dewan, send your photos and fan encounter stories to fanencounters@channingtatumunwrapped.com. I will post them on the blog to share with envious fans all around the globe! ;-)
On a side note, Channing and his next film 'Fighting' are on the homepage of MySpace again today. From what I can tell, fans are really liking the Greg Gorman photoshoot picture that MySpace is using, because we have received around 1000 new friend requests in the past 24 hours.
Needless-to-say, it's been keeping me pretty busy, and I haven't seen a spike like this since 'Step Up 2' was released. I want to say thanks to all of our many new MySpace friends for helping us finally break the 40,000 friend mark! I also want to remind you that if you join the Channing Tatum Unwrapped Fan Club, you could be added to Channing's top friends next month. CLICK HERE to learn more about the FREE club!
