New Personal Pictures of Channing Tatum, Girlfriend Jenna Dewan, and Sister Paige Hanging Out with Family and Friends

If you have been reading this blog for a while, you already know how close Channing Tatum is with his family. Well Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's good friend Josh (the same Josh who just recently sent us some really awesome new baby pictures of Chan and his sister Paige) just sent me more personal pictures of the couple.

Today's pictures show Channing Tatum, his girlfriend Jenna Dewan and his sister Paige hanging out in a restaurant and at the extremely popular Hollywood hangout Les Deux with friends from Channing's native state of Alabama when they came to visit Chenna and Paige in California. When it comes to young Hollywood, Les Deux is where it’s at. LC and Audrina from MTV's "The Hills" come to this Italian-inspired club all the time and CTU readers get a rare look inside with these great pics.

The last two pictures show Channing and Jenna taking pictures with family and friends when they went back to Alabama to attend a wedding of one of Channing's family members. Enjoy!!!

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's 'Fighting' Starts Filming Today in New York

In an article posted on IGN.com yesterday we learn a little more about Channing's new movie 'Fighting' which starts filming today in New York City.

Here is what IGN.com has to say about the film and the new roles that have been cast:

Fighting is a rough-hewn heroic tale about realizing dreams of glory, putting audiences ringside at high-stakes underground street fights. Tatum stars as Sean Arthur, a young man who scrapes up a living hustling counterfeit merchandise in NYC. With family tragedy in his past and his father keeping him at a distance, this outsider has little to motivate him. A chance encounter with veteran street-fighting coach Harvey Boarden (Howard) leads to a whole new career for Sean. The ensuing bouts get tough, especially with the criminal element horning in, so Sean gets tougher. He will fight to win, not only the prize money, but also the unexpected new relationships that are strengthening him.

Also newly cast are Zulay Henao (currently on-screen in Illegal Tender) as single mother Zulay Velez, whom Sean tries to integrate into his new life; Luis Guzman as Martinez, a fight promoter; and world-renowned professional fighter Cung Le as Sean's fearsome Korean foe in the ring. Montiel's crew on Fighting includes cinematographer Stefan Czapsky (Blades of Glory), production designer Therese DePrez (The Return), and the costume design team of Kurt and Bart (Shortbus).

Montiel has written the latest draft of the screenplay. Lisa Bruce is co-producer on Fighting. Senior vice president of production Adrienne Biddle is overseeing the picture for Rogue, which holds worldwide rights to the film.
Most importantly, a poster on IMDB says they saw signs related to the filming of 'Fighting' today (September 20, 2007) in New York City's Times Square at 40th between 8th and Broadway. So if you happen to be hanging around Times Square today, you may just be able to catch a glimpse of Mr. Tatum himself (and you better darn well take pictures and beeline them to me at sightings@channingtatumunwrapped.com). :-D

NEWS FLASH: New Channing Tatum Photoshoot for 'Stop Loss' in 'The 2007 Esquire 100'

Channing Tatum and 'Stop Loss' castmates Ryan Phillippe, Abbie Cornish, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mamie Gunner, and Victor Rasuk are showcased in Esquire's second annual register of emerging ideas, trends, discoveries, products, people, and obscene gestures you should know about before everyone else does. Obviously they don't read the blog, because CTU has been all over 'Stop Loss' for ages now, but I am glad the film is starting to get coverage.

Inside Esquire's online directory, you will find stories about the one hundred remarkable people, things, ideas, and places that they feel will be making an impact on our culture, large or small, in the months ahead. They consider the list to be a roll call of what in America is new, surprising, inspiring, sad, and wonderful right now.

Here is the Esquire.com article in its entirety with some great pictures of Chan and his 'Stop Loss' castmates:

The 2007 Esquire 100
Nos. 22 through 24: Stop-Loss Fashion

Director Kimberly Peirce reflects on her war movie Stop-Loss and its lead actors, who happen to look quite nice in fall's most versatile color, gray.

Two years ago, director Kimberly Peirce cowrote a script called Stop-Loss, about a soldier's journey to Iraq and back. She cast some of today's brightest young actors, and with the war raging at home and abroad, she made her movie. Peirce recently rejoined her cast, all of them dressed in this season's most versatile color, gray, on the outskirts of Los Angeles, with photographer Matt Jones in tow. The following pictures are his, and the handwritten words scattered throughout are hers. The rest of the story belongs to all of us.

"On our first day of shooting our movie's war scene, Ryan had to lead his men -- Channing, Victor, and Joe -- through a devastating fire fight with humvees and taxis on fire. It so affected the guys that when it came time to do this shoot, we all agreed we had to restage that element of the experience."

"I was downtown when N.Y. was hit on 9/11. My little brother did two tours of duty in Iraq. We IM'ed most nghts. On his first trip home, he brought back soldier-made videos -- combat footage of the guys set to rock music. After hearing his and other soldiers' stories I knew I had to make a movie about this war from the soldiers' point of view."

"Right after Abbie arrived from Australia, we took a crash course in Texas girls. I took her to the busiest dance hall in Austin to meet some local Texans married to or dating soldiers. Before long, I saw her across the room in a crowd of cowboy boots, short skirts, and makeup, two-stepping in a line dance. She had a cowboy hat on, too."

"Most common thing I heard from soldiers -- scary is when you hear an explosion and you don't know what it is."

"You can't see them, but Mamie's got the best legs."

"Ryan had to not only depict a real-life soldier; he had to earn his stripes as the leader of the cast -- I was happy to hear that after boot camp let out and the guys descended into mad partying, Ryan carried one drunk actor (who'll go unnamed) to his hotel and made sure the rest of his men made it home safe."

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum Scheduled to Attend Premiere of the 'The Game Plan' This Weekend

Channing is listed as a special guest for the world premiere of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's new movie 'The Game Plan'. The premiere is this Sunday, September 23rd at the El Capitan Theatre located at 6838 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, CA.

I just learned that although Chan has been invited as a special guest to this event, he is supposed to start filming his new movie 'Fighting' this Thursday (September 20th) in New York. Chan says he really did want to attend the premiere because Andy Fickman, the director, is a great friend of his. Sadly, he will not be able to attend the premiere, because they have filming scheduled for Saturday night for 'Fighting'. :-(

In addition to Channing, special guests also include Kevin Bacon, Amanda Bynes, Ali Larter, David Duchovny, Christine Lakin, Kristen Bell, Regina King, Rick Fox, Kellie Martin, Corri English, Jo DeLaRosa and more!

Celebrities are scheduled to arrive at 1pm and the screening will start at 2pm.

'The Game Plan' tells the story of rugged superstar quarterback Joe Kingman (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), whose Boston-based team is chasing a championship. A ‘serial bachelor’, Kingman is living the ultimate fantasy: he’s rich, famous and the life of the party. But this dream is suddenly sacked for a loss when he discovers the 8-year-old daughter (newcomer Madison Pettis) he never knew he had – the product of a last fling before parting years ago with his young wife.

Now, during the most important time in his career, he must figure out how to juggle his parties, practices and dates with the newfound ballet classes, bedtime stories and dolls that come with his daughter. Equally perplexed is his hard-edged mega-agent, Stella (Kyra Sedgwick), herself without a parental bone in her body. Despite the often hilarious misadventures that come with being a new father, Joe discovers that there’s more to life than money, endorsements and thousands of adoring fans: the love and care of one very special small fan is the only thing that matters.

Walt Disney Pictures’ 'The Game Plan' is rated PG and opens Friday, September 28, 2007

Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Spotlight

In an effort to help CTU readers learn more about each other, once a month I profile one special Channing Tatum fan on the blog and give them the "Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Spotlight" award.

I am excited to announce that this month's Channing Tatum Unwrapped Fab Fan Spotlight is dedicated to Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Gina from the Philippines. Here is what you should know about Gina:

Name:
Gina S.

Country:

Philippines

Age:

20 years old and counting!

Social Networking Site Profiles:

[MySpace] [Friendster] [Friendster Group] [Yahoo Group]

Favorite Channing Tatum Picture and Why?:
I choose this pic because every crease in his face on his forehead was like telling me he gets problems too (even if this is just a pose). I want to remind everybody (and myself) that Channing is just one of us.

It is also a chance to tell everyone who judges Chan by the way he looks at times that he is not here to impress you. He is here to act and not to impress anyone. It is not only thru looks that chan caught my heart and my interest. If you can't deal with how he looks then better not let any Chan Fam catch you saying it.. dont say I did not warn you.

It is also amazing how one photo can tell a lot. How he can speak to anyone with his eyes and poses.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:
I would have to say so far it would be AGTRYS. Channing may not be the lead actor but he has shown his own ability in acting. It is also the movie where he did not have to look Chansome and neat but that only means Channing is the type of actor who doesn't rely only with his looks to get to the top of his game. It is also one of the movies where he gets to work with big stars like Chazz Palminteri and he did say chaz became his mentor. And though this movie was not as big as the other movies he did, I can say it is the type of movie where you will try to watch with the chance you've got because of its story and acting and not because you are just a die hard fan of one of the actors. How Channing acted here showed his ability to be a versatile actor with versatile talents.

Favorite Channing Tatum Scene and Why?:
Channing scenes and the first one would be from STM, where Duke came back for Viola in a Tux. It was dark but even with few lights his face showed how Duke really cared for Viola. And the 2nd one would be from AGTRYS again when he went back to Dito's house after his father beat him up again. Chan was really able to show the audience how Antonio would do anything to have a father like Dito's father but Dito wanted to break free from his family even though he loved them.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie Quote and Why?:
Hmmm. its a cheesy line! "Do you like cheese?" lol

Have you ever met Channing?:
No.. not yet! But I know I will. I dont know when but I know I will!

Why are you a Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan?:
Does having the one with the longest cbox name (Ginaloveschan2dnthdegree) or longest forum name (Ginaandchansittingonatreek-i-s-s-i-n-g) count as reasons too? LOL! Seriously, I'm sticking with Chan as a fan thru thick or thin. Some may not see me as a Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan but I am definetely a Channing Tatum Fan! Actually to tell you the truth I am glad I got to be chosen, but I've still got room for improvements as his fan.

Why does Channing Tatum Unwrapped think that this fan belongs in the Fab Fan Spotlight?
Gina is extremely humble, but the truth of the matter is that she really is a die-hard Channing Tatum fan. From her Chan-themed MySpace profile to her Yahoo group to her Friendster group, Gina really knows how to help fans learn more about Channing in her native country and all around the world. Gina has been a huge CTU supporter and can often be found chatting it up with other fans on the CTU chat box and in the forum. Gina even loves to "serve" snacks and beverages at almost every Virtual party CTU has had. Finally, she enjoys using her endless creativity to create original paintings and the awesome Channing Tatum fan video you see below. If you have ever spent the time to do either, you know just how dedicated Gina is as a Fabulous Channing Tatum fan.

Thanks Gina for letting me profile you and for taking the time to share all of your info with the other readers!

As the subject of the Fab Fan Spotlight, Gina is able to pick a custom-made poster of Channing Tatum courtesy of Channing Tatum Unwrapped! Gina's Fab Fan Spotlight prize will be sent to her.

Finally, Gina's Fab Fan Spotlight profile will be added on the right side of the blog so other Channing Fans can learn about her from any page on the site. Feel free to send your congrats to Gina in the comments on this entry!

Do you want to be in the Fab Fan Spotlight? I will choose and interview readers who have contributed to the Channing Tatum Unwrapped and the Channing Tatum fan community by submitting Pictures of the Week, Videos of the Week, Comments, Graphics, etc. and/or by having groups, profiles, or sites that they made for Channing and his fans. I am currently choosing the next Fab Fan Spotlighter, so be on the lookout for an email from me requesting an interview and the next FFS might just be you!

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum in Fall/Winter 2007 VMan Magazine

Even though it's only been a little over a year since US fans have had the pleasure of seeing Channing Tatum on the big screen, I think I am not alone in saying that it feels like it has been years and we are all VERY ready to see another one of his films.

Well, Channing fans can now breathe a collective sigh of relief, because movies like 'The Trap' (October 5, 2007) and 'Battle in Seattle' (December 2007) are scheduled to release in the coming months. New movies mean new magazine layouts to promote Channing and his projects and that means more drool-worthy photos of our favorite Hollywood up and comer.

So let the games begin!!! Below are 6 pages of an 8 page spread of an amazing photoshoot Channing did with photographer Mario Testino for the Fall/Winter 2007 issue of VMan with Tom Brady on the cover. I am currently in the process of purchasing the actual magazine, so once I receive it, I will have high quality scans of the entire 8-page spread.

Until then, you can enjoy Chan in all of his chantalizing gorgeousness. Enjoy!

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard's 'Fighting' to Start Filming Next Week

Although the actor himself stated it in an interview recently, Rogue Pictures officially announced on Friday that Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard has signed to star opposite Channing Tatum in Dito Montiel's new underground street fighting action drama.

An actor who recently attended the open casting in New York said that the previously untitled film is called 'Fighting' (for now at least) and Rogue Pictures seems to also be confirming that fact.

Although I think that Channing may have already started training for the film, it is supposed to begin shooting next week in New York. In addition to directing the movie, 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' director Dito Montiel also wrote the screenplay for 'Fighting'.

Howard received his Oscar nomination for his powerful performance in 'Hustle & Flow' and can currently be seen in the new movies 'The Hunting Party' and 'The Brave One,' both of which open nationwide this weekend.

Just in case you don't already know...In 'Fighting', Channing Tatum will play Sean Arthur, a New York counterfeit merchandise salesman (aka ticket scalper) whose life is changed after a chance encounter with veteran street-fighting coach, Harvey Boarden, played by Howard.

'Fighting' is set to have its theatrical release some time in 2008.
