New Casting Call for Channing Tatum’s ‘Eagle of the Ninth’

Jenna Dewan recently visited Channing Tatum on the set of his Kevin MacDonald directed Roman epic, 'The Eagle of the Ninth' and tweeted that fans "will really love this movie". If you want to see first hand what Jenna's all excited about, you may just want to make a beeline to Scotland this weekend.

Sweet on Sigma Films is reporting via the UK's Press and Journal that 'The Eagle of the Ninth (which is currently filming on the outskirts of Budapest, Hungary) is holding a casting call for extras tomorrow, Saturday, September 12, 2009.

The event will be conducted by Des Hamilton Casting, and they're looking for local men between the ages of 16 and 45 and woman between the ages of 16 and 25 to appear in the feature film.

The casting call will be held at the MacPhail Centre in Ullapool, Scotland from 10am - 4pm and anyone interested should be prepared to provide a photo and contact details, which will be sent to the production team.

'The Eagle of the Ninth' is based on the best-selling, classic 1954 teen novel by Rosemary Sutcliff, and is set in the dangerous world of second-century Britain.

In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (played by Channing) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth.

Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Jamie Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian's Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia - to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father's memory, and retrieve the lost legion's golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth. Donald Sutherland portrays Marcus' uncle Aquila, who has retired in Britain; Mark Strong is cast as Guern, an ex-soldier who holds crucial information about the Ninth.

'The Eagle of the Ninth' is scheduled to hit theaters some time in 2010!!!

REMINDER: Channing Tatum's 'Fighting' Premieres in Germany

I just wanted to remind all of Channing Tatum's fans in Germany that his latest film, 'Fighting', just premiered in your country on TODAY!!! Here's the German synopsis for the movie...

CHANNING TATUM & JENNA DEWAN VIDEOS OF THE WEEK: The Ricky Martin Edition

News has been a little slow lately and whenever that happens, I start digging into the vault for article ideas. In yesterday's hunt I found something, and I'm really not sure how I missed this in my past searches.

Most of you know that Channing Tatum got his start in the biz in Ricky Martin's music video "She Bangs" (you can see Chan getting his makeup done in the behind-the-scenes photo his mom sent me above), but did you know that Jenna Dewan was featured in Martin's video "Juramento"(aka "The Way to Love")?

Yet another thing the two have in common, in addition to the fact that the heat level in both videos is through the roof! It's almost not even fair to have that much hotness in one marriage. ;-)

Jenna told me that, even though the video was...

"Soo grueling to shoot..over 24 straight hours, desert heat, heels..I had to ice my feet for 2 days after! Ricky Martin is the best though. Very sweet, down to earth."

REMINDER: Jenna Dewan's "Melrose Place" Premieres on the CW TONIGHT!!!

I just wanted to remind everyone that "Melrose Place" will premiere on the CW tonight. In case you don't know, Channing Tatum's wife, Jenna Dewan, has joined the cast of the highly-anticipated reboot of the popular 90's nighttime soap opera.

Jenna started filming in late August and will appear in episodes seven and eight later this season. She will play a movie executive named Kendra Wilson who works on the Paramount lot and has her eyes on Jonah Miller (Michael Rady), an aspiring filmmaker.

Based on what Jenna tweeted after a resent wardrobe fitting, her character will be wearing tons of sexy suits and has been described as an "ivy league graduate, wickedly sexy and wickedly smart".

"Melrose Place" will premiere on TONIGHT, September 8 @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW (after "90210").

FAN ENCOUNTER: Channing Tatum’s Thank You from a Hometown Hero

As I previously posted, Channing Tatum and the cast and crew of ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra’ honored local service men and women with an early Hometown Hero Screening in San Diego, California during their world-wide press tour before the film was officially released in theaters.

At the event, Senior Community Representative Bill Cegelka presented local Hometown Hero Jose Velazquez and his son, Justin with a personal letter honoring Jose’s service in the US Navy.

In today's Fab Fan Encounter, Jose and his family have sent photos and a thank you letter to Chan and all of the supporters at the event and have given me permission to share...

"A 'G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra' premier was held in San Diego on August 5th. My family and I want to take this moment to thank everyone for supporting the military and us. My family and I had a great opportunity to meet with Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Stephen Sommers, Community Representative Bill Cegelka, Lori Saldana State Assemblywoman, Neil Hoffman and so many others that made it such a great time for us and all because of my son Justin's letter was picked thank you.

Jenna Dewan just left for Budapest, Hungary to visit Channing Tatum while he films his newest movie, 'The Eagle of the Ninth'. The happy newlywed that I'm sure was missing her husband something fierce (and vice versa) tweeted that she's...

"In Budapest, having an amazing time, soaking up the love:) Should've brought my rainboots though! About to go for a bike ride around the city."

Before she left for Hungary, Jen also recently tweeted that she was interviewed by People Magazine about the cute over-the-knee boots she wore to an event late last month.

Today's Fab Fan Encounter comes to us via IMDB user and Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan Juliaaa who ran into Chan outside the Gramercy Hotel in New York City during the recent 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' press tour.

Here's what Juliaaa had to say about her lucky fan encounter...

"I met Channing on August 5 in New York City, in front of the Gramercy Park Hotel, which lies next to the Gramercy Park and two steps from Park Avenue, for whomever is familiar with the area. He was on his tour to NYC to promote "G.I Joe:Rise Of Cobra". It was almost noon. He came out of the hotel and was signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans for about 20 minutes, then headed to his car to get to some event, as far as I could understand. He was looking cute and confident and seemed to enjoy talking and taking pictures with everybody there." - Juliaaa

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum’s ‘Fighting’ Knocks Out the Competition on DVD & Blu-ray

Channing Tatum's 2009 action movie 'Fighting' was released on DVD and Blu-ray in the US and Canada last month. According to Rentrak (a company that provides sales data to the entertainment and media industries), the movie debuted at No. 1 in Blu-ray Disc sales, No. 2 in DVD sales, and is also currently the No. 2 DVD rental.

Writer and director Dito Montiel brings the action in 'Fighting', a gritty story of a small town boy who becomes a street fighting star in New York City's underground circuit.

'Fighting' stars Channing Tatum, Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard ('Iron Man', 'Crash', 'Hustle & Flow'), Zulay Henao ('S. Darko') and Luis Guzman ('War'), and is about Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) knows firsthand that every day in New York City is a struggle to survive.

When scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) gives him a chance to be something more in the brutal underground world of bare-knuckle street-fighting, Shawn decides that he has something worth fighting for and puts everything on the line to win. ON LOCATION: New Scottish Filming Location for Channing Tatum's 'Eagle of the Ninth'

Channing Tatum continues to film his Kevin MacDonald directed Roman epic 'The Eagle of the Ninth' on the outskirts of Budapest, Hungary, and I found some news on one of the upcoming Scottish locations via the Sweet On Sigma Films blog.

Local sources are saying that the movie will be filming in Scotland the first two weeks of October. The production will be based out of Film City Glasgow once they move from Hungary to Scotland (as I previously posted), and they will reportedly be filming at Fox Point near Dornie and Achnahaird Beach in the far northwest area of Scotland, which you can see in the beautiful photos above.

UPDATE (9.5.2009): Thanks to Jamie Bell fan site All Things Foe I just learned that the production has been or will soon be filming in the Hungarian town of Szentendre, a small art village on the Danube, at Ulcisia Castra. A newspaper also mentioned that local Hungarian actors are also being used for some of the minor roles.

I work on Wall Street and recently had the pleasure of meeting Chan. It was my second week of work and he definitely made me love my job even more than I already do! He was incredibly down-to-earth, chatting and taking pictures with fans, signing autographs and even introducing himself to some starstruck fans.I can honestly say that I love Channing Tatum!! He's even hotter in person!

New Photos of Jenna Dewan at Vau de Vire Society's Performance of The Moskova Affair

While husband Channing Tatum films his Roman drama 'The Eagle of the Ninth' half way around the world in Budapest, Hungary, Jenna Dewan has been working hard and attending numerous events much closer to home.

On Thursday, August 27th Jenna tweeted about loving the new clothes (sexy power suits) at a fitting she had that day for her upcoming role on "Melrose Place," and that night, she attended the Vau de Vire Society's performance of "The Moskova Affair" in Los Angeles, California.

After which, she tweeted...

"Just went to a private party that had circus performers, contortionists, aerialists and dancers..very entertaining!"

Newlywed Jenna Dewan Reveals Latest Passion – Cooking

She's getting ready for an upcoming film and a stint on Melrose Place, but Jenna Dewan is also keeping active off the set – in the kitchen.

"I'm really into cooking lately," the actress, 28, who tied the knot with Channing Tatum in July, tells PEOPLE. "I've been really passionate about it, so I've been learning some new dishes and getting into it."

What inspired the newlywed to learn how to whip up a few dishes? "We got a whole bunch of cooking accessories from the wedding," Dewan said Thursday at a performance in Los Angeles of The Moskova Affair by the Vau de Vire Society dance troupe.

Though it's only been a month since the two got married, Dewan – who marked the special day with Tatum, 29, by getting matching tattoos during their honeymoon – says she's been enjoying every minute of her new life.

"It's great. It's amazing," she says. "I'm so unbelievably happy. I get happier every day, if that's possible."

Up next for the couple may be a move away from Hollywood and into a more simple lifestyle in Tatum's hometown of Wetumpka, Ala., where he has said he'd like to build a home.

"Not yet," says Dewan, "but it's definitely in the future. We love it there."

E!'s Marc Malkin also interviewed Jen at the event and she talks about a musical that she and Chan are working on together and about her impending name change...

"We're sort of writing a screenplay right now for a musical... There's not a whole lot I can tell you yet, but it's a very fantasy-based musical...It would be very very different form Step Up, but it would definitely involve dancing and romance...At the moment, I'm hyphening it [her name]. For the next film that I do, it will probably be Jenna Dewan-Tatum."
