NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum to Star in Dito Montiel's Newest Movie & Nominated for People's Choice Award

In case you all missed the tweet on Channing Tatum's official Twitter, Production Weekly just confirmed that Chan will be starring in yet another Dito Montiel film very soon.

First there was 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints', then 'Fighting', then 'Brotherhood of the Rose', and now we have 'Son of No One'. All written and directed by Dito Montiel and all starring Channing Tatum.

I think Chan may have mentioned this film when he was doing press for 'Fighting' in April, but there's not a lot of details out there for it yet. What we do know is that Chan will be acting along side his 'Fighting' co-star Terrence Howard, James Gandolfini from "The Sopranos" and Robert De Niro from more movies than I could ever list here and who coincidentally also executive produced Chan's 2009 historical drama 'Public Enemies'.

The dramatic thriller is about a young cop who is assigned to a precinct in the working class neighborhood where he grew up, and an old secret threatens to destroy his life and his family.

Production Weekly reported that 'Son of No One' is scheduled to start filming this January. I'm not sure where the movie's going to be filming yet, but knowing Dito's love of New York City, I'm willing to bet good money that Chan may once again be roaming the streets of NYC come January.

Thanks to CTU reader Belinda, I found out that Chan has been nominated for a People's Choice Award this year. Please make sure you vote for Chan in the "Favorite Action Star" category and then you should also mosey on over to the "Favorite Movie" category to vote for Chan's movie 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'.

The People's Choice Awards celebrates fan favorites in music, movies and television and is the only major awards show where real people - not industry insiders - determine the nominees and winners. The 2010 show will be broadcast live from Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on January 6, 2010 on the CBS Television Network.

With three movies under his belt and 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' breaking the $300 million mark this week, 2009 has officially been an extremely successful year in the world of Mr. Channing Tatum, so the casting announcement and People's Choice Award nomination didn't surprise me one bit. Congrats to Chan and everyone make sure to vote for him early often!!!

New Photos of Jenna Dewan at ELLE’s Women in Hollywood Event and on “Melrose Place”

On today's post, we have new photos of Channing Tatum's wife (aka Jenna Dewan) as she arrives at ELLE’s 16th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute at the Four Seasons Hotel on October 19, 2009 in Beverly Hills, California and new promotional photos from her "Melrose Place" shoot.

ELLE brought together an intimate group of Hollywood’s best and brightest talent for a celebration dinner honoring women’s achievements in film. This year’s honorees ranged from screen legend Julie Andrews to talented casting director Bonnie Timmermann, as well as several of today’s most critically-acclaimed actresses: Emily Blunt, Katie Holmes, Julianne Moore, Robin Wright Penn and Renee Zellweger (who were all showcased in this month's issue of the magazine which features ELLE's prestigious Women in Hollywood Power List by respected entertainment news blogger Nikke Finke).

Jenna tweeted about the event before and after and even let us know about a new role she just landed...

"Have an @elle_com Women In Hollywood event to go to, my favorite! so inspiring. they are honoring renee z, juianne moore, k. holmes etc..yea...Very inspired after my evening at Elle mag event. Julie andrews was there! Legend!! Love what I do...also, in other news..i am going to go film a western soon! very fun role, great cast of actors..stay tuned for more info xx"

CONGRATS to Jenna on the new role!!! In the photos below, you can see for yourself how absolutely glowing and beyond beautiful Jenna (in a George Chakra dress, Ippolita jewels and Sergio Rossi shoes) looked at the event...

Thanks to fan @maxdil we also have some great new promotional photos of Jenna Dewan as Kendra with Michael Rady as Jonah Miller at Katsuya (a Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles) in tonight's “Windsor” episode of "Melrose Place" on The CW. Enjoy!

Jenna appears in at least two episodes (seven and eight) and plays a movie executive named Kendra Wilson who works on the Paramount lot and has her eyes on Jonah Miller, an aspiring filmmaker. Her character is described as an ivy league graduate, wickedly sexy and wickedly smart.

I'm so excited for Jenna! She did a really great job in tonight's episode and I can't wait to see her second episode in two weeks!

Want to see more? You can head on over to the CTU Photo Gallery for the rest of the pics of Jenna at the the ELLE party and larger versions of the promotional photos from her "Melrose Place" shoot.

PICTURES OF THE WEEK: Channing Tatum in Scotland Working on ‘Eagle of the Ninth’

Each week Channing Tatum Unwrapped will post one or more of our favorite pictures of the uber hot Channing Tatum.

Believe it or not, we haven't seen a new photo of Channing Tatum in public since early August when he left the US to start filming his Roman epic 'Eagle of the Ninth' in Hungary.

The production has now moved on, and we have some new photos of Chan after he arrived in Glascow, Scotland to shoot the movie on Thursday, October 15, 2009 thanks to JustJared.com.

Fans can check out today's Pictures of the Week below...

'The Eagle of the Ninth' is based on the best-selling, classic 1954 teen novel by Rosemary Sutcliff, and is set in the dangerous world of second-century Britain.

In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (played by Channing) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Jamie Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian's Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia - to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father's memory, and retrieve the lost legion's golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth.

'The Eagle of the Ninth' will be filming in the Loch Lomond area of Scotland for the next six weeks and is scheduled to hit theaters some time in 2010!!!

If you have a favorite picture from this blog, our photo gallery, a picture you have made or a picture that you have found on the net that you would like me to consider, send the picture or a link to the picture to potw@channingtatumunwrapped.com and tell me why you like it. I will post it and your explanation on the blog. If you like or don't like today's picture (for some completely insane reason), let everyone know that too by clicking on the comments link below. :-)

IN THE PRESS: Channing Tatum Makes Empire’s 100 Sexiest Movie Stars List

Channing Tatum has been making a lot of celeb lists this week. On today's "In the Press" post, Empire Magazine have chosen Chan as one of their 100 Sexiest Movie Stars for 2009. Check out what the UK mag had to say about why they picked him...
"Though a bigger deal in America than he is here over in Blighty, this hasn't stopped the often unshirted and shockingly buff Channing from wiggling his way into the nation's sexual subconscious, what with his body-flaunting antics in Step Up and his more recent appearance in cinematic candyfloss GI Joe. Expect more rippling Alabaman abs on your screens for a long while yet. Most alluring as...the body-popping community-service-serving one-man dancing powerhouse that is Tyler Gage in Step Up."

New Photos of Jenna Dewan at 2009 20th Anniversary Inner City Arts Imagine Gala And Auction

After wrapping up her latest trip to visit hubby Channing Tatum on the Scotland set of his film 'Eagle of the Ninth', Jenna Dewan hurried home to take part in an event for an organization that's very close to Chan's sister's heart. Jenna attended (migraine and all) the Inner City Arts Imagine Gala to support her really good friend and new sister-in-law Paige.

Inner-City Arts (ICA), a vibrant arts instruction campus for at-risk children in the heart of Skid Row, celebrated its 20th year with the 2009 Imagine Gala & Auction by honoring "Everybody Loves Raymond" creator, writer and executive producer Philip Rosenthal, his wife, actress Monica Horan Rosenthal, and their children, Ben and Lily.

The organization is a learning oasis in the heart of Los Angeles' Skid Row where professional artists teach students in a studio environment.

ICA has served 150,000 of the city's most at-risk children and works in partnership with the Los Angeles United School District to bring elementary and middle school students to the campus during the day for instruction in visual and performing arts. High school students participate in after-school and Saturday programs.

National research proves students who attend ICA classes show dramatic increases in statewide standardized test scores.

They learn collaboration, creative and conceptual thinking skills and create a whole new vision of self, hope, accomplishment and belonging.

Paul Reiser emceed the event that was chaired by Anna and Ray Romano and included entertainment by the band Los Lobos. The gala also featured the culinary skills of celebrated chefs during the cocktail reception and dinner including: Wolfgang Puck, Alice Waters, Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali, Sherry Yard, Suzanne Goin, Michael Cimarusti, Gloria Felix, Suzanne Tracht, Matt Molina, Zoe Nathan and Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook.

For the live auction, Jen told me that Chan donated a day of paintball with him, and she donated a dance class taught by her. I'm sure that whoever won either will have an incredible experience. So jealous!!!

On a side note...Jenna tweeted last night that she's going to have another Q & A on Twitter, so make sure to get in your questions. You can CLICK HERE to see what was asked and answered on the last Q & A Jen did for her fans.

Finally, the wait is almost over! I believe that episode 7 (aka "Windsor") of "Melrose Place" will premiere NEXT TUESDAY, October 20 @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW. This is supposed to be the beginning of Jenna's two episode arc on the show, so don't miss it!!!

If you want to see Jen on TV sooner, fans can watch her movie 'Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal' on the Lifetime Movies Network SATURDAY, October 17 @ 7PM ET/PT.

FAN ENCOUNTER: Fan Hangs with the Cast & Crew of Channing Tatum's 'The Eagle of the Ninth'

Filming began on Channing Tatum's Roman drama 'Eagle of the Ninth' in Hungary on August 24th and moved to Scotland a few weeks ago.

Ted from the fan site All Things Foe recently posted an exclusive report with photos from a fan named Julie who lives in the area where 'Eagle' is filming. You can read all about her encounter at the set and at a dance (called a Ceilidh) the town held for the cast and crew (including both Chan and his wife Jenna Dewan) below...

"On Saturday, 10th October, we decided to walk up to Fox Point to look at the set. The weather was great when we had left home and was still dry as we walked up the hill. Due to filming we had to wait for a while and once the all terrain vehicles started to move we were able to continue towards the set.

We met a really friendly guy near to the set and we spoke to him for sometime – he was telling us about how they were in Hungary for 6 weeks and how things were going here etc and told us to go and look into the huts, wander around the “village”etc and not to worry that if we were in the way, we would be asked to move. Having introduced himself as Duncan, asking our names as well, I asked if he would be going to the ceilidh at night. He was and we met him there and he spoke to us by name which I thought was really good. Only later did I find out that he was infact Duncan Kenworthy, the producer.

The set was so impressive – however getting across the boggy tracks was not at all easy, especially as I am a bog magnet and usually end up falling in them. We had seen some photos of the huts and were totally amazed at how realistic the fiber glass stones were – an amazing amount of work must have gone into it and the colors were incredible!

The costumes for the extras are fantastic and it was great fun looking beyond the green paint to see who we recognized!

As the weather was so bad by now – rain, rain and more rain we weren’t sure if we would just head back down the hill but noticed they were filming at ground level. 2 of the extras were walking past the black horse and the camera man was filming their legs through the horses legs!

The next bit to be filmed was Channing scraping a sealskin outside a hut so bark chippings had to be laid and covered with bracken as the ground was so wet. Then with everything about ready and Channing called the weather changed so they decided to do a close up of Channing with the horses.

By now we were well and truly soaked so headed off back down the hill. We had spoken to quite a few people involved in the filming and they were all really courteous and looking forward to the ceilidh...

The ceilidh was by far one of the best we have ever had in our community hall. Despite having taken 2 hours to get off the hill a great number of people came along – including some extras who were staying in Ullapool and had never been to a ceilidh before.

Jamie, Channing and his wife all came along and appeared to be really enjoying themselves...I had gone into the lounge to tidy the tea things and [Jamie] was there jamming away with a local guy and they were singing away (can’t remember the song) and Jamie was playing one of the kid’s guitars.

Both Channing and Jamie were really good about signing autographs and having their photos taken with people. Due to the problems with my camera I didn’t get any.

The music for the evening was varied but brilliant. So many of the kids were involved – guitars, bagipes, accordians and whistles. The Coigach singers did a few songs, lot of piping and a tremendous amount of dancing. It was great as we had our very own “Dancing with the Stars”...

At the end of the night we finished in true highland style with Auld Lang Syne and I hope that the memory and atmosphere of the night stays with everyone for a long time."

Donald Sutherland portrays Marcus' uncle Aquila, who has retired in Britain; Mark Strong is cast as Guern, an ex-soldier who holds crucial information about the Ninth.

The sets in Scotland are being used to represent everything north of Hadrian's Wall, while the Hungary locations are a stand-in for everything south of the Wall in the film.

'The Eagle of the Ninth' is scheduled to hit theaters some time in 2010!!!

FIRST LOOK: Photos from the Set of Channing Tatum's 'The Eagle of the Ninth'

After filming for approximately a month in Hungary Channing Tatum's Roman epic 'Eagle of the Ninth' shifted gears, moved the entire production to it's Scotland locations, and started filming again last Wednesday.

While in Scotland, the production will reportedly be filming at locations in Achilitbuie, Glen Sloy, and Fox Point. Thanks to the Sweet on Sigma Films and A Gaels' View from the Edge of the World blogs we now have our very first look at photos strait from the Achilitbuie set of the film. In the photos above, you have pics of a child and "seal warriors" who are all local extras working on the Scottish set.

Via his blog, A Gaels' View from the Edge of the World, the little girl's father Toby gives us some behind-the-scenes info about the production, the harsh weather conditions Jenna Dewan mentioned in my previous post, and what it's like with Chan on set...

"My wife and daughter have just finished working on the set of the new Kevin Macdonald film The Eagle of Ninth. Based on the book by Rosemary Sutcliffe and set in the second century AD, it's about a Roman soldier who tries to recover the lost of standard of the Ninth Legion that disappeared in Scotland...

They've been filming near Achiltibuie over the last week and have had to endure some pretty wild weather, Friday's weather in particular threw everything it could to make proceedings as miserable as possible. They've kept at it though and I was impressed at the professionalism of the crew and the fact that everyone seemed willing to muck in and help when things got tough. The stars of the film (Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell) had no airs and graces about them and were more than happy to mingle with the extras - they also signed my daughter's book so she went home very happy!

The added cash to the local tourist economy has been well received with most of the local B&B's hosting cast and crew members. Local people have also been used as drivers and of course extras - hence my wife and daughter's involvement."

Fans can view larger versions of the photos above and some additional photos in the CTU Photo Gallery.

IN THE PRESS & ON LOCATION: Jenna Dewan in US Weekly and in Scotland with Channing Tatum

Jenna Dewan is featured in this week's US Weekly magazine for an outfit she wore to the Nylon Magazine TV issue launch party this past August. If you remember some of my previous posts, this isn't the first time Jenna's fashion choice for this particular event has been spotlighted (i.e. FabSugar and People Magazine).

You can check out my latest obsession (a pair of L.A.M.B. Rasta Boots that I recently tweeted about and have added to my X-mas wish list), Channing Tatum's adorable wife, and her trend-setting over-the-knee boots in US Weekly's October 19, 2009 issue below...

Jen is actually in Scotland right now visiting Chan as he films his Roman epic 'Eagle of the Ninth' in Achiltibuie, near Ullapool. They started shooting key scenes for the film on Wednesday and will reportedly continue to shoot in the area through Monday.

The weather has been pretty bad recently and Jenna confirms that fact and her love for Chan in a recent tweet...
"Im with Chan as he is filming on top of a mountain in Scotland,20 min muddy hike to get to set,it's freezing and raining..this is true love!"
There have been reports that the production team will also be using 3 locations within the Coigach area of Scotland...Fox Point (near Dornie Harbor overlooking the Summer Isles), Achnahaird and Loch Lurigan.

Donald Sutherland portrays Marcus' uncle Aquila, who has retired in Britain; Mark Strong is cast as Guern, an ex-soldier who holds crucial information about the Ninth.

Chan's 'The Eagle of the Ninth' won't hit theaters until some time in 2010, but Jenna's fans can pick up a copy of this week's US Weekly on newsstands now!!!
