Why do I love this pic... its shows how down to earth channing is even if his career is blooming.. whatever they say about channing I'll definitely be rooting for him all the way.

Thanks for submitting these pictures, Gina! When I found these photos online, I was so excited, because it was a clear signal that Channing and Jenna were still dating. The fact that they were even eating at Olive Garden also showed just how extremely down-to-earth our favorite couple Chenna is. NEWS FLASH: Dance Open Call for 'Step Up 2: The Streets' Tomorrow

I just found more information regarding the dance open call for the feature film, 'Step Up 2: The Streets'.

The dance open call will be held tomorrow morning, June 30, 2007 at 10 AM in Towson, Maryland at the Towson Unviversity Center for the arts.

Why Do We All Love Channing Tatum?

DID YOU KNOW?...Channing Tatum has gorgeous green eyes, rugged jawline, perfect abs, talent, charisma, sex appeal and not to mention the toungey-smile we all love...those are the obvious reasons why many of us are fans of Channing Tatum, but a lot of celebrities can say they have these qualities.

So what differentiates Channing from the crowd?

To me, it's his heart, humility and the ability to remain down-to-earth amidst all of the up-and-comer talk that swarms around him daily.

How do I know that this is the type of person Channing is, since I don't know him personally? All you have to do is find the people that have worked with him and that are friends with him and you are quickly able to get a glimpse of who Channing really is.

I just recently found a blog entry by one of Channing's co-stars in Stop Loss. We talked about it this morning on the chat...shout out to Gina, Tina, Kerline, Marlie, and Ms. Jan (aka Chan's stand in) :-) and I thought I would share it with everyone else.

In today's world, many people have an ego even when they haven't done anything to warrant it. I have heard over and over again from people who have worked with him, who have met him and who are close to him that Channing on the other hand has stayed fan-friendly, down-to-earth, approachable, and humble.

It's what makes us fans love him so much. It's what makes people in Hollywood want to work with him. And hopefully, it's what will help him to have a very long and successful career that we will all follow year after year. And I, for one, truly feel that he deserves and has earned it.

RUMOR OR REEL?: Channing Tatum's Movie 'Battle in Seattle' Will Have World Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

Channing Tatum's next film 'Battle in Seattle' (BIS) is rumored to have its theatrical release at this year's 32nd annual Toronto International Film Festival® (TIFF), which will run from September 6-15, 2007.

Leigh, who runs the Official Michele Rodriguez website, told me that the release is not 100% confirmed yet, because TIFF will make their official film list announcement on August 21st.

Because the movie has a large-cast and decent budget, was filmed in Canada, is covering an important subject, etc. is seems that the film has a really great chance of being chosen for the film festival.

Leigh also told me that if she gets any confirmation prior to August 21st, she'll let me know and ofcourse I will pass the info on to all of you.

Currently, the movie is supposed to release in US theaters in November or December 2007, and there is also a theatrical release scheduled in the Netherlands for March 13, 2008.

NEWS FLASH: US Release Date for Channing Tatum's Movie Stop Loss

It seems that we are going to have to wait longer than planned to see Channing Tatum in his much-anticipated military drama Stop Loss. :-( I just learned today that the movie is now scheduled to premiere in the US on March 28, 2008.

In addition to the release date sources below, the production team of the movie has now updated the US release date in IMDBPro, so the date is definitely official (for now). Since the US release date has been pushed, we almost have to assume that the international release dates will also be postponed. I will keep you all posted on the new international dates as soon as I find out.

Although we have to wait awhile to see Stop Loss, I am excited to say that I am working on an interview with one of his costars. So you will all be able to get a first hand account of the actor's experiences filming the movie and working with Channing. Stay tuned to Channing Tatum Unwrapped for the exclusive interview and pictures of the actor and Channing.

Channing Tatum's Movie 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' Releases in Poland and the Netherlands

It's been a while since I have posted international news about Channing Tatum, so I was glad when I found information on the latest releases for his award-winning movie 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' overseas.

'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' (aka Wszyscy twoi święci) had its theatrical release in Poland on June 15, 2007 and it seems to be doing well in the theaters.

If you live in Poland and have not seen the movie yet, don't miss your chance to see Channing Tatum in his most dramatic role to date. You will not be disappointed.

Also, IMDB says that 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' will release in the Netherlands in the coming months, so my Dutch friends (shout out to IMDB user Tender_Flower) will finally be able to see the movie. I am sorry to say that you all will have to wait until October 25, 2007 to see the film, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Here is an intersting fact...Did you know that Channing had to compete against a lot of real DJ's when he tried out for this commercial. Although it looks like Channing has the ability to scratch and be a DJ, he is 100% using his acting skills in this Pepsi commercial to look like he is an experienced, calm, cool, and collected club DJ.

As CTU Reader Jan says in her best Joey voice (from the show 'Friends')..."How you do'in?" is what comes to mind when she sees this photo. I must say that I totally agree. ;-)

I would like to thank you (and Gina) by the way for teaching all of us on the comment box how to say things in Filipino today. Here is what I learned:

Mahal namin si Channing. Si Channing ay isang napakagaling na aktor. Gwapo si Channing, Hinahangaan namin si Channing.

For those who don't speak Filipino (which includes me), it means:

We love Channing. Channing is a very good actor. Channing is handsome. We idolize Channing.

I love it when I learn new languages, so thanks again for the photo and for teaching me something new today!

Mission Accomplished...Channing Matthew Tatum is Now Official!!!

The revolution has begun (although it may not be televised)!

Channing Tatum's real name is now official on his profiles on Wikipedia and IMBD, because of CTU's discovery last week.

After I found out that Channing's name was incorrect on the two popular sources, I updated Wikipedia and I submitted an update request to IMDB last Friday asking them to read my article if they wanted proof.

Obviously, the staff at IMDB agreed with my conclusions, and they have now updated Channing's IMDB profile.

This is almost as good as when I debunked the rumor posted on Who's Dated Who that said Channing had broken up with Jenna Dewan for some person named Megan Dewall. Actually, I think figuring out his correct name may just be even better. :-D

CTU's mission is to debunk any rumor that I can so fans can get accurate information about Channing. If you have been reading the blog for a while, here are some of the things you have been able to learn:

1. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan ARE still dating. (Yay!!)
2. Channing Tatum DID NOT date anyone named Megan Dewall.
   
3. Channing Tatum is NOT going to be in the movie Mongol.
   
4. Channing Tatum's name is NOT (and never has been) Channing Bryan Isaac Tatum Anderson. His birthname IS Channing Matthew Tatum.
5. Channing DOES have a sister and her name is Paige. I do not think that the whole 7 sibling thing is true at all.
   
   And if you don't hear anything else I have said, know this...
   
   
6. Channing Tatum DOES NOT have a MySpace profile where he talks to his fans, no matter what ChanningTatumMySpace or any other poser on MySpace tells you. I have confirmed this over and over again with Channing's people, Channing's friends, and even with Channing and Jenna's friend Josh who sends personal pictures to CTU on behalf of the couple. Channing Tatum's girlfriend and 'Step Up' co-star, Jenna Dewan, DOES have an official MySpace. It is http://www.myspace.com/jennadewan.

It is truly amazing to me how far these posers will go. I recently had one of them try to convince me they were Channing and they even went so far as to thank me for the birthday gift we all gave him in April. That gift is and always will be extremely important to me and to all of the readers that contributed to it. Pretending to be Channing was very disrespectful to me, to Channing and to every one else who took the time to submit photos for the birthday gift.

All I can say is the MySpace posers better beware, because Mamma Chan Fan is coming after you next for fooling fans, giving out incorrect information, and for just being down right dishonest with people who desparately want to connect with Channing (the REAL Channing).

What's funny is that a lot of you posers read this blog. I'm telling you now that you are all on my radar and you can consider this your warning.

Although this article is from last year, I still found it interesting to learn how Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan reacted to all of the fan attention they started getting after Step Up released last August. The director of the movie, Anne Fletcher gives us the low down on how the stars of the film reacted to their growing popularity.

CELEB INSIDER: A New Life for Channing Tatum

"He's stunned. It's only been a week, and life has changed so fast, so drastically," observes Anne Fletcher, the director of Disney's dance flick, "Step Up."
She's talking, of course, about the movie's brightest new star, Channing Tatum, who plays the boy from the wrong side of the tracks who falls for a wealthy performing arts high school dancer (Jenna Dewan). If you happened to be around for Patrick Swayze-mania back when "Dirty Dancing" became a hit in 1987, well, time will soon tell whether we have a parallel in the making here.

"I told him, 'Your life, as you've known it, is over.' Jenna feels stunned, too," adds Fletcher, one of the hottest choreographers in the business, whose credits range from "The MTV Movie Awards" to John Travolta's upcoming big-screen "Hairspray." "She's like: 'What happened?' I say, 'Just enjoy it.'"

Adds the lively, energetic Fletcher, "I do know that Channing will be incredibly generous with his fans and grateful for them. The kids know him already," she points out, since the actor has already amassed a list of credits including the lead opposite Amanda Bynes in "She's the Man," plus turns in "Coach Carter," "War of the Worlds" and Robert Downey, Jr.'s September release drama, "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints."

"He truly knows the fans are the ones putting him on top. I remember being on the red carpet for the premiere, and they had to come pull him away from a group of people to go inside the theater. I know his face better than anyone at this point, and I saw his little face, so disappointed and pained that he couldn't have time with each of the people out there who wanted to talk to him."

But, will success turn his head?

"No," answers Fletcher emphatically. "We've actually had this conversation. I told him, 'Hollywood is very small, and if I hear on the grapevine that you have an ego situation and you're being disrespectful to people, I will find you and beat you.'"

Fletcher says there may be foreign openings ahead for "Step Up," although Tatum is busy in Austin, Texas, making Paramount's yet-untitled feature about a soldier, back in Texas after a tour in Iraq, who refuses to return to battle. Kimberly Peirce directs and Ryan Philippe also stars. "I haven't experienced the aftermath of 'Step Up' yet," adds Fletcher. "I truly would love to be with him when that happens," she says.

In our own unscientific sampling, three teenagers, two girls and a guy, who we took to see the flick were asked, "Channing Tatum, breakthrough star -- yes or no?" They all said "Yes," and one added that the 26-year-old actor/hoofer/former model "is a real honey!" She's got plenty of peers in agreement out there.

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: Noah Baumbach (Margot at the Wedding); Matthew Michael Carnahan (Lions for Lambs); Paul Haggis (In the Valley of Elah); Michael Hirst & William Nicholson (The Golden Age); Tamara Jenkins (The Savages); Steven Knight (Eastern Promises); Kasi Lemmons (Talk to Me); Kimberly Pierce (Stop-Loss); Kelley Sane (Rendition); Paul Schrader (The Walker).

Even though that's the only place the movie is mentioned in the article, it is good that the film is on the radar, because that will give Channing and the rest of the cast a lot more attention when the film comes out. The more positive attention the film gets, the more chance that Channing and the other cast could end up on the nomination lists for the Oscars and the other awards shows.

Everyone who I have spoken with who attended pre-screening of the movie has said that Channing's performance is exceptional in the film, so we should just all just keep our fingers crossed that the critics and award show voters feel the same way.

Stop-Loss will hopefully release in the US on March 28, 2008.

CTU Exclusive New Pictures of Channing Tatum from Jenna Dewan's Personal Photo Album!!!

I have to say I have not been able to wipe the smile off of my face since I received these NEW EXCLUSIVE personal photos from Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum via their really good friend Josh.

So just how personal are these photos? Well, Josh said that he was hanging out with Jenna last week. (Yea, I know. Can you even imagine that? How jealous am I right now?)

But wait...there's more! They were going through some of her old photo albums and she (Jenna...'Step Up' co-star and real-life girlfriend of Channing...in case you didn't know) gave Josh the pictures below for all of us at Channing Tatum Unwrapped!!!!

Awwwwwww! They like us. They really like us! Ahhhhhh!!!! How cool is that?!?!?!? First of all, now I know for 100% sure that Jenna and Channing know about the blog AND Jenna personally chose these pictures from her very own photo album for all of us. I'm almost speechless I am so excited. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures! :-D

This is a picture of Channing's friend Rissa, Chan, and Rissa's Friend Amber at the Coach Carter after party a few years ago.

This is a picture of Channing's friend, Chan, Rissa, Jenna and Chan's beautiful sister, Paige, earlier this year I believe. (In case you missed it...you heard it here first...now we know Channing's sister's name is Paige!!!)

As for Josh, Jenna, and Channing...I thank you and my readers thank you. You could not have given us a better gift than to take the time to get these kind of pictures to us, your biggest fans. We absolutely love them more than words can express!!!!

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's Real Name...We Were All Wrong!!!

Above is a picture of Channing Tatum's 1998 highschool graduting class at Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida. Channing is laying down at the bottom middle of the picture in blue shorts.

Sometimes it can be hard to find out someone's real name. It's even harder if you don't know that the supposed "real name" you see in most places is actually not correct. Practically everywhere you look online you see Channing Tatum's birthname as "Channing Bryan Isaac Tatum Anderson".

Well, it seems that the joke is on all of us, because that is NOT his real name. The name that Kay and Glenn Tatum gave their son when he was born is...wait for it...Channing MATTHEW Tatum!!!! And I finally have the proof and the reason why we have all been fooled for many years now.

I ran into a person online who went to Channing's highschool and they have now cleared up the mystery. Here is what IMDBKID86 had to say:

The school I'm talking about is Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida. Since you're such a big fan, you probably know that he grew up in Florida. He graduated from my HS in 1998. Here is a link to the school website showing the list of graduated in 1998:

When you get there, click on History in the top panel. After that, click on Graduates in the left hand panel. Find 1998 and click it. Then, scroll down to find Channing Tatum's name.

So how did all of the crazy "Channing Bryan Isaac Tatum Anderson" stuff get started anyway? It seems that someone made up a whole fake biography about Channing having a brother whose last name was Anderson. The fake bio said things like they were related to someone named Marion Raven from M2M, that they were all going to be on The OC with Demi Moore and all this other information that ended up not being true at all.

This fake biography is also where the now infamous "Channing Bryan Isaac Tatum Anderson" came from and it unfortunately it has persisted...until today that is. To add insult to injury, one of Channing's first agencies supposedly used the incorrect name in their bio/profile of him, which solidified the lie even more.

So the name mystery has now been cracked and I am going to update his name everywhere on this site. Hopefully with all of our help, we can get his real name out there to other fans and eventually the incorrect name will die a fast death online.

Thanks IMDBKID86 for helping us get to the bottom of this one. I would say that the case of the Fake Channing Tatum Name can finally be closed...now spread the word! :-)

UPDATE: Thanks to a CTU reader, in addition to knowing Channing's real name, we also now know that Channing was a member of the 1997 - 1998 Tampa Catholic High School varsity soccer team. Here is a screen shot from school's website that shows the entire team roster:

NEWS FLASH: Screenwriter Chosen for Channing Tatum's Movie 'Dear John'

The LA Times is reporting that a screenwriter has been chosen for Channing Tatum's upcoming movie 'Dear John', which is based on the best selling Nicholas Sparks book of the same name. I am reading 'Dear John' right now and am really excited about this romantic drama that I think is perfect for Channing. Here is the article:

The film will follow a young Army grunt in a post-9/11 world.

Screenwriter Jamie Linden ("We Are Marshall") has been tapped to adapt Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel "Dear John" for New Line.

Sparks' post-9/11 book is set in North Carolina and is expected to star Channing Tatum as John Tyree, a 23-year-old Army grunt. Tyree falls in love with the teetotaler, virginal co-ed Savannah Lynn Curtis while on leave. After the World Trade Center is attacked, Tyree reenlists for more time in the Middle East. Eventually, Curtis' communications become less frequent until he finally receives a "Dear John" letter.

Sparks' prior novels, "Message in a Bottle" and "A Walk to Remember," have also been adapted into romantic dramas aimed at young adults. New Line, which released the surprise hit "The Notebook," is looking to tap into a similar sweet spot with "Dear John." Tatum was previously seen in "Step Up" and "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints." New Line will be looking for a director and a female lead for Linden's adaptation.

Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce the film for New Line President of Production Toby Emmerich.
