I would say this CTU Exclusive is hot off the presses, but I don't think the August 2009 issue of Vanity Fair has even been printed yet, so today's exclusive is just plain HOT!!!

Channing Tatum and his 'Dear John' co-star Amanda Seyfried are featured in Vanity Fair's “Ain’t We Got Style?” article in their upcoming issue that features Heath Ledger on the cover, and you get to see it all here first!

“Ain’t We Got Style?” is a portfolio in the August issue where photographers Michael Roberts, Norman Jean Roy, Mark Seliger, and Art Streiber teamed up with Chan, Amanda, Josh Duhamel, Mila Kunis, Emile Hirsch, and a total of 31 hot, young rising stars to re-enact classic Depression-era films.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum Featured on 7-Eleven Slurpees & Straws for 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'

In big budget blockbuster fashion, fan's will be able to find Channing Tatum's live action film adaptation 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' on merchandise far and wide starting this month. From books (like the one Chan's good friend Nick Zano found and tweeted about yesterday) to greeting cards to backback packs to action figures, Chan's face is going to be plastered all over the place and fans couldn't be happier!!

Yet another place where we'll be able to find Chan in the coming weeks is at your neighborhood 7-Eleven convenience store....

7-Eleven, Inc. reports that they are joining forces with Paramount Pictures to promote the Aug. 7 release of 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'.

At the center of the promotion, starting this week, is a new G.I. JOE-themed true-blue Slurpee® flavor – Liquid Artillery, a summer fruit blend of strawberry, pineapple and lime flavors created by The Coca-Cola Company. Four 22-oz. collectible Slurpee cups with matching character straws will also feature G.I. JOE team members CONRAD DUKE HOWSER and SNAKE EYES, and COBRA members, BARONESS and STORM SHADOW, and an online Slurpee Nation sweepstakes offers a grand-prize trip for two to attend the Los Angeles premiere of the movie.

Besides its frozen blue Slurpee drink, 7-Eleven has added a hot beverage tie-in with a ‘GO JOE’ Cappuccino, mocha-flavored with three natural energy ingredients – taurine, guarana and caffeine. One 12-ounce cup has as much caffeine as an 8-ounce energy drink. Refillable silver and black 16-ounce coffee mugs featuring the G.I. JOE logo also are available while supplies last.

GIVING BACK: A True Survivor...The Story of Five Year Old Summer Moll

A CTU reader brought a heartbreaking story to my attention that I really want to share with you all. Until I received her email, I had not heard about 5 year-old Summer Moll who survived a head-on crash where she also sadly lost her mother.

Four at the time, the September 10, 2008 crash left Summer critically injured when she and her mom were hit by a woman driving the wrong way on the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway in the Tampa, Florida area with a 0.244 percent blood-alcohol level (nearly 3 times the legal limit). The driver currently faces multiple felony charges, including DUI-manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

Summer suffered a fractured skull and broken arms and legs. She has undergone more than eight surgeries, had casts on both arms, a brace on her neck, currently has pins in her legs, and has endured painful rehabilitation to learn how to walk all over again.

I can't even explain how touched I was by her inspirational story of survival. Despite all of the loss and pain, Summer is still a happy, smiling five year old who, in her grandmother Tammy's words, "has been pricked and prodded more in the past year than anyone should be in a lifetime...Even after she has had blood drawn, which she doesn't enjoy, she'll look at the nurse and say 'thank you'. That's just Summer."

Summer began rehabilitation in December and finally left the hospital at the end of January after the September accident and has continued to have surgeries as recently as last week (her 4th skin graft). Because of her extensive injuries, she has now accumulated over $3 million worth of medical bills along the way.

A benefit is being held for Summer on July 25th at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park, Illinois where she and her grandmother and grandfather who take care of her have a lot of supportive friends and family who want to help the family.

I spoke to one of the coordinators of the benefit and their goal is to raise $50,000 - $75,000 to donate to a trust that has been setup for Summer. The event will include a dinner buffet, a sweet table, door prizes, raffles and a silent auction for which Channing has donated items.

Tickets are $20 for adults; $5 for children ages 3 to 11 and free for children younger than 3. Proceeds from the benefit will help to pay for Summer's mounting medical bills.

If you cannot attend the event, but would like to make a donation to Summer's trust, you can do this through the office of Mac Greco III, an attorney for Summer's grandparents and caretakers Art and Tammy Rosian. As the saying goes...“Everyone can’t do everything. But everyone can do something.”

As I mentioned in previous posts...A deadly war is raging in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and our insatiable demand for electronics products such as cell phones and laptops is helping drive that conflict. Eastern Congo is the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman or girl, and the sexual violence there is often fueled by militias warring over conflict minerals, the ores that produce tin, tungsten, and tantalum—the 3 Ts— that end up being used in our electronic devices.

Raise Hope for Congo is an Enough Project campaign from the Center for American Progress. While the Enough Project focuses on crises in Sudan, Chad, eastern Congo, northern Uganda, Somalia, and Zimbabwe, Raise Hope for Congo has a very specific goal of protecting and empowering Congolese women and girls.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum's 'Eagle of the Ninth' Will Be Based at Glascow's Film City

Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, and Kevin MacDonald from 'The Eagle of the Ninth'

Channing Tatum fan Suuded from Germany sent me a quick news byte on Chan's upcoming Roman epic, 'The Eagle of the Ninth'.

As I already reported, the movie will be directed by Kevin MacDonald, will also star Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland, and is going to be based in Glascow, Scotland.

More specifically, Suuded confirmed that this August the production (which held an extras casting call earlier this month) will be based at Film City Glasgow. In addition to providing production office space, the facililty boasts the country's first Dolby theatre, a new filming studio, rehearsal space, and state of the art sound and picture editing suites. It's Scotland's new campus for the independent film and media industry and is located within Glasgow's historic Govan Town Hall.

'The Eagle of the Ninth' is based on the best-selling, classic 1954 teen novel by Rosemary Sutcliff. The film will be directed by Kevin MacDonald and the screenplay was adapted by Jeremy Brock (who previously worked with MacDonald on the award winning 'The Last King Of Scotland'),

Set in Britain during the 2nd century A.D., it's the story of a wounded Roman soldier (Channing Tatum) and his Celtic slave (Jamie Bell) who embark on a perilous journey into the far north to discover what happened the Ninth Legion, which went on a mission into the wilds of Scotland 15 years earlier and never came back. The soldier's father was the legion's general, and his disappearance, along with the loss of the legion's symbol, the eponymous eagle, cast a stain upon his family.

I have read that the production is supposed to start filming in in Hungary and ScotlandAugust. They will film in Glasgow for approximately 5 or 6 weeks and will then take smaller crews into the Highlands for 3 or 4 weeks. Many of the scenes will be filmed near Loch Lomond, in addition to other Highland areas in Scotland.

The film did exceptionally well at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival by acquiring distributors in every major territory around the world. If everything stays on schedule, 'The Eagle of the Ninth' is supposed to hit theaters some time in 2010!!!

CTU NEWS: Check out Tweetboard on Channing Tatum Unwrapped

Long time readers of CTU know that I love gadgets, and it's been a while since I added a new one to the site. Since Chan now has almost 40,000 followers on Twitter, I found a new toy that I hope readers will find both fun and helpful...

Tweetboard is a new gadget that allows me to display threaded Twitter conversations on the CTU site and blog. In short, it's kind of an easily accessible, Twitter-powered forum that you all will find on every page of the sites.

As you can see in the graphic above, the new Tweetboard forum sits on the left hand side of your screen as a small tab, indicating the count of tweets since your last visit. Visitors can then click the tab and the Tweetboard will slide open with a view of all tweets pulled in from Chan's Twitter stream, threaded appropriately. Tweets pulled in include account updates and @replies to other users. Replies, however, show up in context of the original message to create a back-and-forth conversation-like feel.

You can even use "Sign in with Twitter" to tweet from the page, expand replies, add your own reply, and filter tweets by date, last activity, and most active.

I hope you all enjoy the new gadget!

One critic who recently screened Channing Tatum's highly-anticipated historical drama 'Public Enemies' raved about the film saying it "is glorious and levitational -- the most captivating, beautifully composed and freshly conceived gangster movie since Bonnie and Clyde. GIVING BACK: Jenna Dewan Supports Cedars-Sinai Medical Center & Helps the Congo

One of the many things I love about Channing Tatum's fiancee Jenna Dewan is her support of various charities that assist both women and children all around the world. I have new photos and a video of Jenna doing just that for the children affected by illness at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and for the women and children in the war-ravaged country of the Congo.

In the pics above and below, you see Jenna as she arrives at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center 2009 "Rock-n-Reel" Musical Extravaganza on June 14, 2009 at Culver Studios. The Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center honored Producer Alexandra Milchan-Lambert and Relativity Media President of Production Scott Lambert at their inaugural Rock-n-Reel event.

The afternoon celebrated the children who suffer from IBD and their families and featured a fun-filled day of activities including arts and crafts, interactive games, a beauty shop and sports bar as well as musical entertainment by Maroon 5's Adam Levine. In addition to Jenna, special guest stars like Taylor Lautner, Hayden Panettiere, Jason Biggs, and Sharon Stone also attended the event.

As I previously posted, Jenna and her best friend Emmanuelle Chriqui recently attended a Raise Hope for Congo event, because Emmanuelle is a longtime supporter.

Eastern Congo is the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman or girl, and the sexual violence there is often fueled by militias warring over conflict minerals, the ores that produce tin, tungsten, and tantalum—the 3 Ts— that end up being used in our electronic devices.

Jenna and Emmanuelle have both created a new video to support the Enough Project, a project from the Center for American Progress to end genocide and crimes against humanity. Enough, focuses on crises in Sudan, Chad, eastern Congo, northern Uganda, Somalia, and Zimbabwe. Raise Hope for Congo is an Enough campaign to protect and empower Congolese women and girls.

You can watch their video below where they also recruited Jenna's adorable dog Meeka and two of Chan's best friends (Brett Rodriguez and Reid Carolin) to help educate all of us on the crisis in the Congo...

TOY SOLDIER One part of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is really freaking Tatum out: the tie-in toy line. "My friends are going to do the most horrible things to my head," he says, "You can't even imagine."

I couldn't agree with him more on Adele. If memory serves me correctly, Chan actually has a close friend from highschool that produced one of the songs on her latest album, and if you haven't heard Adele's album 19, then you're really missing out. My favorite songs are "Chasing Pavements", "Melt My Heart to Stone", and "Hometown Glory". As music guru Clinton Sparks says on E!'s "The Daily Ten"...GET FAMILIAR!!!

In US Weekly's "New Boys on the Block" article they decide which celebs should move over to make room for a brand new crop of hot A-listers. The magazine feels that Bradley Cooper is the next Vince Vaughn, Shia LaBeouf is the next Mel Gibson, Justin Bartha is the next Paul Rudd, Robert Pattinson is the next Johnny Depp, Christ Pine is the next Harrison Ford, Zac Efron is the next Leonardo DiCaprio, and Taylor Lautner is the next Keanu Reeves. And here's what they had to say about Chan...

For his breakout role as a street warrior in Fighting, Tatum, 29, trained six hours a day. "Fun stuff!" he tells US. And like fellow tough guy Willis, 54, who turned his bone crushing Die Hard role into a string of blockbusters, the Alabama native (engaged to Jenna Dewan, 28) keeps getting more action: He's next up in Public Enemies and G.I. Joe.

CTU IN THE NEWS: Channing Tatum and CTU Featured in Australia's POP Republic Magazine

Channing Tatum is featured in the June 2009 issue of Australia's POPRepublic magazine for his role in this summer's blockbuster 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra', which hits theaters on August 7th.

In addition to a promotional photo from the film, I was surprised to see that they also used one of the wallpapers I just created for CTU in the popular digital magazine. You can check out the original wallpaper in a recent 'G.I. Joe' article I posted, and you can CLICK HERE or on the image below to download a high quality version of the graphic too!

Because this is such a busy year for Chan with 'Fighting', 'Public Enemies' and 'G.I. Joe', he is going to be featured in a lot of magazines and interviews all around the world. And in an insane twist, I was even recently interviewd by Vogue Italia for an article they're working on about Chan.

They asked me if they could use a couple of CTU wallpapers I created, and they also wanted to learn more about all of Chan's fans here at CTU. Who knows if the wallpapers or any of my interview will end up in the magazine, but it was a HUGE honor to even be asked.

NEWS FLASH: Five New Character Posters and Extended TV Spot for Channing Tatum's 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'

Paramount Pictures just sent me five new high resolution character posters for Duke, Snake Eyes, Ripcord, Baroness, and Storm Shadow for Channing Tatum's upcoming action movie G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'. You can check out all of the new posters in the slideshow below. Enjoy!

I also wanted to let you know about a newly released extended TV Spot for the film. In addition to other new footage, Paramount has added a really funny bit between Channing Tatum and Marlon Wayans at the end of the trailer. The story of 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' revolves around a military unit known as Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity (G.I.J.O.E.), which is a hi-tech, international force of special operatives that takes on an evil organization named Cobra.

Directed by Stephen Sommers, the action-adventure stars Channing Tatum as Duke, Sienna Miller as The Baroness, Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, Brendan Fraser as Gung Ho, Rachel Nichols as Scarlett, Karolina Kurkova as Cover Girl, Byung-Hun Lee as Storm Shadow, Dennis Quaid as Hawk, Christopher Eccleston as Destro, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Heavy Duty, and Saïd Taghmaoui as Breaker.

Finally, Hasbro has just announced that the 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' movie toys will be launched before the previously announced date of July 11th. Channing Tatum's action figures will now hit store shelves on July 6th.
